I'm so glad to see that Tim has stayed the course and continued to be a strong leader for God! In a world of many fallen heroes, I'm glad that those whom we looked up to are still solid in your faith walk! May He always be the Light of the World - into all parts of the world!

Oh dear feminism talks again .Whether we like it not scripture does not endorse female leadership or women teaching men. As Paul reminds us Adam was created first when he teaches on the male/female roles in the church. Then the claim of Mary being the first evangelist is yet gain an example of inflating scripture beyond its rightful meaning. Mary was indeed the first to witness the resurrection of Jesus and ran to tell the other disciples. Running to take this wonderful news did not make her an evangelist. And then Phoebe delivering Paul's letter is inflated with the claim that she taught from the letter. . She had been entrusted with a very important document and probably encouraged and gave news to the fellowship. But it doesn't mean that she unpacked and taught from the letter.. And oh dear into conversation come the well worn typical words of feminism - mysogyny and patriarchy suggesting that until Jesus came God's people were guilty of both. In the Old Testament Israel gave women a status that very few other societies did at that time. Likely Deborah will be given as an example of female leadership as though that was the norm. The context of Deborah's leadership was a very low period in Israel's history when it was said ""everyone did what was right in their own eyes" If anything Deborah's story is about the failure of the man Barak snd also the tribesmen of Israel in no taking up their rightful role of leadership at a time of war. Deborah commisioned Barak to go to war but Barak refused to go without her. Deborah's immediate response to Barak's refusal to go without her was a prophecy that the victory would go to a woman which unquestionably would be to Barak's humiliation. I could go on but this is a u tube comment. Christian feminism whether it realises it or not is an undermining of the authority of scripture and there is enough of that these days. Is it without significance that 95% of this conversation is taken up with Rachel talking. As perhaps never before there is a need for the recovery of masculinity within society. It is often said that in these times men are often confused as to what their role is or should be. .. We need the recovery of strong, unapologetic masculinity, men unashamed to take the role of being the lovng heads of their families and male leadership in the church. Young men with strong fathers. Making the roles of men and women in the church interchangeable is thought to affirm female equality. But it was ever the case that before God they were equal. Different roles do not equate to inequality. And in a wider context I would go so far as to say that feminism has played at least some part in the new gender ideology and all the horrible spin offs that have come about as a result. Finally I would say that if the scriptural designation of the roles of men and women in the church can be changed at a spiritual level it stands to reason that the sexual roles of men and women can also be changed. And look what we now have - increasing numbers of churches endorsing a different kind of marriage. Everything has a root and the wrong kind of feminism can be a very bad root.
