By starting about a quarter mile away, and pushing hard, I already had a good amount of speed before hitting the hill. Now, in high gear, and continuing to pedal when I reached the bottom of the hill, my speedometer showed, 63mph!

I live and spearfish in Citrus County, but am trying to find other spots. Do you know of any decent areas that are in some shallower water out of Hernando? I mostly snorkel and use a pole, but I can scuba; I just have trouble equalizing past 20 ft. I appreciate any help.

Gigging the fish through the eyes is cruel. I used to spearfish a lot but the more I interact with fish, I realize how amazing and smart they are. Makes me think about all those that I have speared and wonder!!! As I contemplate God's creation more and more, am more inclined to admire them instead of killing them... But am a fisherman, well, maybe it's time to consider my ways and it probably comes down to: only take what you need and do not inflict more pain than what you have to in order to kill.

Not dived Ginnie yet but this looks awfully like cave to me. One light, one tank? I sure hope this can still be described as a cavern on some level....
@greatwhitescuba29872 жыл бұрын
It still counts as a cavern. As long as you can still see light it's a cavern
@squarecracker2 жыл бұрын
You can freedive all the way back to the grate. It would be very, very difficult to get lost in there to the point where one light/one tank becomes an issue. You're never really more than 20 seconds away from the surface (idk maybe scuba guys swim slower but the current is pushing you out)
@BSills-fe8ze2 жыл бұрын
It’s a cavern opening that leads to caves, not a cave itself. Also the maze of caves are sealed with a steel grate so no one travels in.

@@Mr.Stroke0331 Once you enter the wildlife management area, sign in, and follow the dirt road until you see a round about, take a right onto rattlesnake camp, then follow that until you see another roundabout with a road called three bridges road. Follow that road for a hot minute and keep an eye on the left, you'll see a sign that mentions scuba divers. Park just past there and walk the footpath near the sign for about 2000 feet.

@@Mr.Stroke0331 be careful! There’s a line at 140 feet. Don’t follow it if you’re not cave trained. Seen somebody last time I was down there realize the mistake. What did he do
@joshuaunderwood18733 жыл бұрын
@@Devast8r34 his ascent to the surface was too fast. But worse his console and octo are hanging, which means they’re dragging. Which means if his buddy runs out of air he will get a blast of sand to the back of his throat when he takes that yellow octo. Dealing with an out of air situation is bad enough, made much worse then sand is causing the octo to work improperly. The console dragging is a hazard if they were to enter a silted area as well, unknowingly kicking up silt for his buddy behind him. Even worse if he’s the last diver he’s unknowingly creating a possible silt out behind the entire team that they won’t know about until they turn the dive.

@@joshuaunderwood1873 It's a giant cavern lol it's totally safe even for complete novices. There's no silt or danger of getting lost and running out of air.
@joshuaunderwood18732 жыл бұрын
@@squarecracker it’s actually not a giant cavern it’s relatively small comparatively. It’s ludicrous to say there’s no chance of running out of air and just shows me you’re not cave trained. However, I NEVER said he could get lost. Didn’t even allude too it. But “giant” cavern is still an overhead environment.
