not sure who played it first in rock music or (death) metal, but check out Sam Woodyard on "Kinda Dukish", also Sunny Murray on Holy Ghost with Albert Ayler. Also Tony Williams is cited by some as the first on Dark Prince with Trio of Doom, but I'm not sure i hear it....

Philthy one of the all time bests! He’d do 16ths yeah but they were also SWUNG 16ths, even more difficult. So much swing in his playing. His drumming was wild perfection.

I was there. He's remembering correctly. They got pelted with bottles, but the catch was, ALL opening bands got pelted at these festivals. It was a tradition.

Awesome to see 2 living legends on stage together again. Just a bit of a shame that these venues are ridiculously huge and u just don’t get a chance to actually see the artists unless watching a screen. I understand the need for it but when at these venues I think artists have to put on huge light shows and learn from bands like the Floyd or most people don’t really get to experience the gig from so far back. Amazing to watch This and huge respect due. ✌️

So cool. I started tearing up. For us fans, although there remains only two -- there's so much power any time there's the uniting of Beatles to perform live on stage together again.

Whilst people can joke about him hitting beer kegs etc, his presence was so key in Slipknot’s live performances. And he seems like the most down to earth, cool, level headed member of the band.

His mask is/was so iconic. Idk if it’s just me, but he stood out so much, I always kind of saw him as the face of Slipknot. His mask specifically is what made me want to listen to them when their first album dropped. Every live show, he always caught my eye and was by far my favorite “character”/member. I when I was a kid, I wanted his mask so bad, but my dads then wife was super religious and absolutely would not allow me to get one lol

fun fact: the iconic liar mask was created by Sid, who also improved craig's mask (adding the nails, light and gasmask) as well as Paul's and Jim

We miss you Chris. I wish u was still in the band. I wish the OG lineup was the still lineup till this day. It’s upsetting that Chris was treated like shit in Slipknot. Chris is never shy of giving Joey and Paul compliments so it’s obvious that having those two guys in the band with him made it easier but after their time in Slipknot, no wonder he quit and was miserbale

Chris could properly scream and sing, he was a legit part of the band. Slipknot is a band that underutilised what it had. The best part of Slipknot was what everyone else for some reason saw as the "extra". Sid, Craig, Chris and Clown were the most important members, to me. They were the extra dimension. With Vol3 onwards the band sounded incredibly generic and just become like everyone else. They fell into the trap of guitar solos and Corey frontmanisms. Nah, the best moments in Slipknot is when the wall of drums and screams happen alongside Craigs weird background noise and Sid's scratches. That was Slipknot.
