The incredible fact that most of these songs you can listen to it on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and most of the videogames presented here have at least a cameo in the same game. Definitely that game is the ultimate crossover of videogames.

these comments are so annoying. this is a MOST ICONIC GAME OST LIST. not this persons favorite. everybodys saying hes biased for putting so much nintendo songs on here but thats just because they are so iconic. im scrolling through these comments and some of these "but what about...?" comments are just ridiculous. this is not about best themes or anybodys favorites or how good the games are, this is about how recognizable they are. yea i agree with some of these comments like how he shouldve put gta4 theme or silent hill 2 or goldeneye and maybe shouldnt have had brain age or cave story or nintendogs but there is absolutely no way anybody can be 100% for real and try tell me that like assassins creed 2 theme or something is more iconic that the zelda songs on this list...

like bloodborne is my favorite game and it has one of the bests osts in any video game and everything about the game is iconic but i would still never put any of the soundtrack on a list like this there just isnt anything from there thats instantly recongizable to casual gamers

Come on, this guy is a Nintendo fan, which isn't a bad thing but... I don't know, since I am not used to playing Nintendo's games I felt the second half of the video was... empty for me since I couldn't relate to most songs.

Excluding the Main theme from Sonic Adventure 1, "Open Your Heart", in lieu of that mediocre song from Sonic Adventure 2 is wacky. Most people who played the second would easily recognize the theme song from the prequel.

In fairness, from 85' to 90' Nintendo very heavily dominated the market. Sega didn't really catch up until the Genesis released in the U.S. The Master System did not sell well at all in Japan. Ironically, the system did so bad that Sega abandoned it almost immediately after release, stopped all development of peripherals of it in favor of development for its successor. The Genesis was released less than three years after the Master System was released in the U.S. I agree that there could have been some more songs included in the early years from other games though. Only Guile's theme was chosen from the Street Fighter series but a song that wasn't even in the MK games was added as well. You could argue that the Title theme and the Character Select screen from SF2 are just as iconic.

People tend to look more for game titles than character names. That's why franchises named after their main characters tend to pop off more. Case in point : Pacman, Mario, Bayonetta, Donkey Kong, Cuphead... Pretty sure if there was a pokemon simply named "Pokemon" he would have dominated the list by a mile. Also shows the popularity of Minecraft that Herobrine, which is a name you only know if you care about Minecraft to some degree, managed to hang on for so long.
