Technically A lot of the mages are also stuck at the age that they “stopped” aging at for mentality it feels like Elias still has a lot of child-like innocence himself. And then Josef is also like stuck at bratty teenager due to his curse of immortality. (Also I know a lot of mages just have a lot slower aging not they they truest stopped aging ) and the only sorcerer/wizard/alchemist who is truest immortal is Josef

That doesn't surprise me. Magic in a lot of shows is just what they call the substance (magic, mana, ki, ect) that give the characters their super powers and facilitates whatever deus ex machina the plot needs ( looking at you Fairy Tail).

Magus is one of those series where the dub and sub are distinct and both worth watching. After watching the first three episodes in both languages I find the dynamic between the leads to be different. Chise in Japanese has range and variety while Elias in Japanese has experience and has played instructors many times. Chise in English sounds warmer and adds genuine emotion to improve several scenes. Elias in English isn't faking the old-fashioned style and is very measured. Sounds like the ideal Hogwarts instructor and surprised me in later scenes. The dynamic in Japanese sounds like a teacher and student, but both are old hats at voicing similar characters. The dynamic in English sounds a bit more genuine with a distinctly different tone as the leads get used to each other. I think both are worthy options and the side cast and personal preference will be the deciding factors. I love this series and I hope more people watch it.
