Never tried it but it seems really fun! I don’t understand why i need so many jumps before it’s “allowed” though, why is that?

200 jumps isn't a lot of jumps. Just like so many other things in skydiving, they are trying to make sure you have a level of confidence and ability before you find yourself in a situation you are not prepared to handle.

Took me a while to read the title. First jump I was like "omg another aff student that completely forgot groundtraining.. oh wow perfect intervention, timing could not be better! N- no wait don't let them go again! Why would you let them fly by themselves again! ... oh, instructor air evals. Makes sense lol"

The quickest and easiest way to do that is to look up your nearest skydiving center, call them up, and schedule a tandem parachute jump. You could be jumping this weekend.

I’ve haven’t even jumped from a plane for a normal skydive, (yet ;)) but just from riding a motorcycle for years I know that this was so easy task.. with that said, you sure as hell made it look like one! I’m impressed at how comfortable, and smooth you looked while slicing through the air. I know the air is thinner up there so there’s some difference, but even just putting my arm out with no wings at 125mph can sometimes be difficult to keep steady. I don’t see any other videos on your channel with the suit on since this, did you stray away from continuing? Or just haven’t recorded them? I’m curious, I hope to one day make my first leap, and eventually be able to experience this for myself! Thank you for allowing me to experience your first flight from my computer chair

Thanks for the kind remarks! When I made this jump, I had well over 2000 skydives so had a good free fall and body sense. The videographer is a world class wingsuiter and was able to carve around me and make everything look good. Many people start wingsuiting at 200 jumps which may be too early for some. The thickness of the air is not a factor. Remember that there is a difference between a body being propelled along the ground by a motor vehicle and then sticking out a limb versus an entire body in freefall subject to uniform drag force. Flying a solo wingsuit is not that hard. The challenge in wingsuiting is flying with friends and that takes a lot of time that I don't have and am not interested in spending. I am a skydiving instructor and when I am not instructing, I have other skydiving interests that I want to pursue. Go make a tandem skydive and then sign up for the accelerated freefall course at your local dropzone. Then work on your freefall skills and take a wingsuit course once your skills are there and you pass 200 jumps. Do not be in a rush. All you have to do is want it and have the funds. Good luck!

@@ericbjornskyfun8098 Thank you for taking the time to respond, and for the information! Wow 2000! I’m sure being an instructor gives you the opportunity to dive quite frequently. At this current point in time I have other priorities that take up too much of my time, and money. It is definitely something I plan to get into within the next year however, and have started researching places near me where I can get started. I think one reason the local one to me is so expensive is because it is the only one within about 300 miles. It seems to be about double the cost of other places I have looked into. So it may have to wait until I move south which has been in the works for some time. Again thank you for the response, it’s not often my questions on KZbin get answered at all. Much less someone taking the time to give that much information. So I usually don’t put very much effort into being literate haha. It seems like you really enjoy what you do which is the best part! Have fun, and stay safe!
