Late fall 1999 . . . the last day that the park roads were open. My husband & I were doing a lower loop. Stopped and it was having some maintenance work done. Tried the front doors. Lo and behold the doors were open. We went in, walked all around. We were the only ones in the building. The floors creaked underneath our feet. It was a special memorable visit.

I'm actually bummed that the ball room from the Shining wasn't real. I was strangely wanting that to be real more than anything. To sit in Jack's seat at the bar, take in the beautiful room, and then take a shot of whiskey. It would be everything to me. ❤️

The question I always ask when looking at a hotel room or vacation place is: Would you let your mother or grandmother stay there by herself? The answer to this place is a resounding: NO !!!!!!!!!!!

The real Overlook Hotel, It's beautiful

When they filmed ‘The Shining’ They only used the Stanley Hotel for the 2nd floor scenes. They used a mountain lodge in Oregon or something like that for the exterior shots. And then the rest was done on set in London or something like that. But in the 90s mini series. They use the Stanley hotel as the hotel in the series.

Looks like a smooth flight :) I get nervous about flying and sometimes nauseous (motion sickness) haha but worth it for the quick travel times!

When me and family visit the Stanley, we take lots of pictures, but when we look at the photos, there are always these strange orbs in random places. I remember when I was little, in photos, I would always have TONS of orbs surrounding me. It was really amazing!

I have stayed at Old Faithful Inn a couple of times and ranks as my favorite hotel in the entire world.

Was just there yesterday. Beautiful place. Had a double shot of makallen at the bar. Best 40$ I spent.

It's a lovely place to stay got the disney magic. We got two adjoining rooms when we stayed there in 2017 one for my son and I and the other for my daughter and her partner.we celebrated my daughter's 25th birthday there. It was a wonderful experience and the rooms are even nicer now since the refurbishment. Can't wait to go back after covid
