I was less than a year old when the song came out. For some reason, I remembered it, it embedded. I just turned 58, still love it. Barry's story and final days were a heartbreaker. I can't call it anything else.

Likewise I am 68 and this song always makes me feel all goosebumps and gooey inside. I remember first falling for a girl and all that entails. What a beautiful beautiful song. Great to see the family still together doing so well and sung perfectly. Many thanks. Sent my heart a flutter once again. So sweet.

They need a band to fill out the sound
@CarenBoBearinАй бұрын
@RickB1792 Well, you're entitled to your opinion. However, these performers blend beautifully singing without a full band. (You should hear them sing CSNY's "Helplessly Hoping") They ran out of time and had to change their scheduled performance time so John could catch his plane. They might have used the house band if they'd had time.

Not digging Susan's choice of pants.
@CarenBoBearin2 ай бұрын
@vcoaster They aren't my favorite either, but A. People wear things that they're comfortable with. B. There have been a lot of comments on various groups about her great legs after she's worn a skirt or shorts on stage. Maybe she's uncomfortable with that.
@vcoaster5 күн бұрын
@@CarenBoBearin I get it. Susan doesn't care what others think - or does she? I've had a crush since 1969 and I told her so when I met her - but still not a fan of those pants.

thanks guys ,,,,very sorry to hear of the drummer death by katrina hurricane ! xoxoxoxo
@CarenBoBearin2 ай бұрын
@MrGarcon98 It was actually brother Barry who passed away in the Kartrina mess. Though he started as drummer when he was in a trio with the two eldest brothers, Billy and Bob, he happily switched to bass guitar when youngest brother, John, sat at the kit, no training, and was a natural at drums. Most of the Cowsills were multi-instrumentalists as well as easily able to harmonize as a family. Barry would have turned 70 years old on Sept. 14th 2024. God rest his talented soul. 🙏🏼☮️

Susan keeps trying to energize John and get him going. It doesn't work -obviously. Susan is an amazing performer and seems like an amazing sister. She recognizes John's awkwardness - it that's what happening - but fails to bring life into the living corpse.
@CarenBoBearin3 ай бұрын
@Epistemicwriter Well. Down on John, huh? I was there. They were fine, including John. Awkwardness? 😂 If John seemed distracted, it was because he had a flight to catch. They had to request being moved up in the schedule so that Bob, their driver, could get Cowsey to the airport on time.
@theepistemiccafe3 ай бұрын
Wow. What happened to John? He's the youngest and was by far looked like an old man without energy or spunk. His voice has always been astounding but his showmanship is .... lost

Why was there no backup? No drums?
@CarenBoBearin3 ай бұрын
@jackkunz4015 The Cowsills were one of many musical acts inducted that night. They were scheduled for later in the program, but it was running long, and youngest brother, John, on left, had a plane to catch, so they were moved up. They're old hats at acapella or just guitars since they were kids. This was just faster for them. And they sounded great!

After 55 years of professional life, you don't see many artists or groups who perform this well live.
@CarenBoBearin4 ай бұрын
@jimbohnenkamp5082 Especially with just one guitar. There would normally be bass guitar, drums, a rhythm guitar, and maybe keyboards. The Cowsills still perform on "Oldies" Cruises and have shows in casinos here and there. The rest of the band consists of 2 sons, one husband-of-Susan, and a dear friend from N'awlins.
