Been there, pretty horrible. At least they stayed calm. I think they could invest in a few more fenders and protect that leward side.

It was a good episode for learning. I don't understand why the skipper did not use the wind direction to counter the bow movement at the final maneuvers (which is very predictable in a strong wind), as it is always pushed to the leeward side in all mooring attempts.

No ideawhere that was,trying to get to. I got the impression the helm didnt either & hasn't motored a yacht in wind before. Everytime blown onto boats in the direction wind is blowing. Maybe only driven a car? Waiting to see what the guy who jumped ob the helm manages... lol... looked like he was taking them to an anchorage. But was,getting a run ready to drip into reverse and slot it.1st go get the starboard windward line on. Nice but forgot to tell someone to fender the port bow. I'm a noob but had good whole day instruction on a windy day in a marina and can get a 40ft boat to any point in a marina without a bow thruster or can hold it still while i think and replan.

Pfft, Anfänger, die versenkende Yacht noch....Hätte ich locker hinbekommen. Übrigens, falls einer der Segler hier zufällig demnächst mal an 151-44´W 16-29´S vorbeikommt. Wäre schön, wenn ihr kurz haltet und mich aufsammelt. Mir ist da ein Missgeschick beim Ankern passiert 😳

Mein Erlebnis bei Bora bei ders die Verblendsteine von der Fassade zupft hat war ein Motorboot dass sich mit der Schraube in der Mooring verfangen hat und dann mit ordentlich Schlag dastand. Ich hab nur das nervöse Gezucke der Taschenlampen gesehen während ein Aschenbecher an mir vorbeigezischt is. Am nächsten Tag hatte ich Prüfung fürs Patent und hab mir geschworen, dass ich Schönwetterkapitän bleibe.

^Drogen am Bord? Bekanntheitsgrad in der Marina ist 100% sicher. Jeder Anfang ist schwer. Frage, ich sehe nur die fetten Segelboote +15m, wer kann sich das denn leisten............... ich schaue aus nur nach einer älteren 12 Meter, für meine Rentenfahrt.

How is someone like that allowed to skipper a yacht? They clearly don't understand the idea of leeward and windward, and the effect of the wind. Moreover, you can't even see what or where she was trying to go/ do. Someone should yell " piss off and anchor"!

before Croatia entered EU in other countries they rejected your claim to rent a boat. You go to Split and for couple hundred euros you get 20NM license with no sailing practice just a written a test.
