Guides and some with boats have had reds hit those kwikfish, so the myth of they do not bite is wrong. A lot will sit there and argue that you only get them by lining/flossing them, so stories of seeing them grab some of my flies that I have tied over the years is all lies, LOL! They will take shrimp, so the times of when bait was allowed when the second run was getting ramped up, I would bet that they like sardine as well. I have caught some just outside of Anchorage here on shrimp scented eggs, krill scented eggs but others will use cooked shrimp or even cured shrimp. But people have caught them on spinners or spoons as well. Them Kenai reds, I have cut some open to see cured eggs, some small fish from small sculpin to small trout in their bellies.
@SandbarSafaris4 ай бұрын
yep, we used to catch them all the time trolling k16 quackish for kings. To be fair though, you can catch your limit quicker "flossing" them from shore, but man sometimes when the sun is out and it's a beautiful day, sitting on the boat is just so much better:-). thank you for watching the channel and thanks for the comment.

Really enjoy the videos and jealous of the Pathfinder 2700 open. Curious if you would have done anything different or outfitted the boat any differently today now that you’ve used it several times.
@SandbarSafaris6 ай бұрын
I would have gotten the Minn Kota trolling motor and I would have gotten the live view transducer. There is also nowhere to hang a fender between midship and the bow….so I added a rod holder there and use a “baton” to hang a fender there when needed. Other than that, not much I would have done differently though. I love the boat overall though!

How do you like the tower?? Is that top providing any shade? Do you wish you went with a hard top? I’m trying to make the decision myself. Any likes and dislikes would be super helpful buddy. Congrats!
@SandbarSafaris8 ай бұрын
I honestly haven’t used it yet because it is a bit awkward getting in and out. I only have about 30 hrs on it so far and I do have specific reason why I got, searching for weed lines offshore and for shallow fishing in the backcountry, neither of which I have gotten to do so far, so I do expect to use it eventually. As far as shade goes it certainly does not provide as much as a regular top, but I also haven’t really felt like I needed more shade either. I wrestled with the decision for a while myself so I know the struggle, but i can say even though I haven’t used it yet, I haven’t regretted it either. Good luck and congrats on your future new boat!

Awesome video man! I’m seriously tossed between a 2700 or the blue wave 28, have you had the opportunity to take the boat in the less favorable swells or days and how does it handle it. Also how is the flare is it a dry running boat?
@SandbarSafaris Жыл бұрын
Yes I have and yes it is a dry ride! It is a rough ride in those conditions though so to be fair it is dry, but mostly because you really can’t go fast like you could a more offshore boat.
