Only way it would fit was under the subframe. Into the intercooler on the driver side, then up to the intake on the passenger side

It wasn't solid. I think it would've been if it was on a standalone ECU, but being on the factory ecu and Noone around me being able to tune it, it went through 3 engines while I had it, and only on 8 psi. I was using an AEM fic to control fueling but I wasn't able to control any timing.

@@tristenreyna no, I got tired of the non stop issues, traded it straight across for an 05 Evo 8, got it up to 500whp, got tired of the non stop issues and sold it after doing a fresh head job lol

Yah it was my car, no I don't have it anymore. Had too many issues with it tune wise.

I used an aem fic piggyback to control fueling. Sadly it wasn't able to control timing so the setup ate blocks. Went through 3 blocks before I traded it off.

Don't do it lol. If you're gonna boost it just go with the vf supercharger kit

they're reliable with the supercharger, but considerable more heat with the turbo

The early non vanos one's are much stronger it is possible to high boost it on a stock block if you lower the compression ratio but it is gonna blow anyway it isnt build to handle high boost, also the lack of room in the engine bay makes it very difficult, i would choose for a supercharger if you Stay on a stock block also pretty reliable to daily my old 96 540i sedan did put 420hp on the wheels on a stock block only swapped the cams and headers out for after market ones it did more then 200k km's on the clock in this stage without any problems i traded it in last year for a E90 335i touring but it is still going strong this day by his next owner... I still regret i did get rid of it the E39 is still my favorite chassis anyway...

@@aussi3212 in the US we didn't get the manual wagons (all the v8 manuals in the states were 6sp) so I Swapped it over from the 5 sp auto to 6 sp manual.

notmanynamesleft yep. 05 evo 8 SSL. Last Dyno it made 452/429 at the wheels. Most the wagon ever made was 317/375. And it weighed a thousand pounds more than the evo.

Timothy Bolden there was no tuning done to the factory ecu. I wasn't able to find anyone in Texas that was able/willing to tune it. As for how much power it can hold, I don't know.

rear mounted (despite what people who have it will claim) does have more lag, however sometimes when there is no space or you need it to look stockish rear mounted is just the easier option
