@@MaHa_Works it was originally "trini to d' bone" but they adjusted it to "trinbago to d' bone" for the sale of inclusiveness. At least I think so if memory serves correctly. I might be wrong here.

One possible solution is to remove the wi-fi, add a m.2 wi-fi adapter A / E key to m.2 NVMe. So you can have an SSD up to 2 TB

Anyone ever tried to buy the higher end model motherboard (which does physical SATA and RAM slots) on eBay and swap it in? It could possibly work for around $50.

Whats about to use windows 7 on this machine? Windows 10 literally overflows cpu/ram consume... i readed that could be done but will have some troubles with wireless drivers for W7 and doesnt have RJ45(ADSL) port for LAN... dell suppoes that never releases windows 7 drivers for this laptop model.

Honestly, Windows 8 / 8.1 is a better choice. They consume far fewer resources than windows 7. But for security reasons I wouldn't. I'd faster run Linux mint or lubuntu once I was doing web browsing and basic productivity.

@@gabrielaaldana2924 RAM is upgradeable, up to 1x8gb card. However, not the main storage. You can always buy a microSD card. I recently purchased a Samsung EVO plus 128gb on Amazon for $20

Look for the dell Inspiron gaming. Better cooling and proper atx layout and you can upgrade to your heart's content.

The fan issue was on the power supply. I swapped the psu for an evga supernova and now its quiet.

@@Trusteft well if I ever remove the base of the machine I'll check and see. But in all honesty, adding in more ram would do very little for this class of machine. What this machine really needs if more storage. Total 64gbs of emmc would have been optimal, or a sata connector for a 2.5" ssd.

I don't disagree about extra storage, but more RAM can help a lot too, depending on usage. If you google Dell Inspiron 3180 service manual you can see how it can be done. If I get this I will also get a microSD 128GB class 10 U3.

@@Trusteft the service manual was terrible. I don't know if they fixed it since. But the system is heavily processor constrained. Anything you could do that would need 8 gbs of ram would be too overwhelming for the processor anyway.
