I think Hamlin was secretly just a group of horrible people who held Sam captive and killed Rebecca in some way, and her spirit was trapped in the tapes. Wooly was probably a person who was on to what Hamlin was doing, and they killed him as well. This is why Amanda is passive-aggressive and insane, showing the player she and Wooly need help. And the Amanda monster was probably a creature made by hamlin to kill anyone who got in their way. Yea, it's messed up.

@@Rarefoxaine I don’t think he’s evil, but just misguided… although a lot of other people do think he is evil, especially with the ending of the sequel. I do think he works for Hameln, but either doesn’t fully understand what is truly happening, or is somehow tricked into thinking it’s for the better. Wooly always seems stressed in the games, and historically, cults use this vulnerability to gather people into their systems. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a similar situation.

I don’t know if you watch Gtlive, but in their newest video, they noticed the doctor in one of the secret tapes sounds oddly similar to Wooly. It could just be a coincidence, but in these games it’s worth it to keep an eye out.
