I'm crying. They're so beautiful. Aging like fine wine.

2005 war Don 68 Jahre und Phil 66 Jahre. Das war Hochleistung körperlich und geistig. Und ihre Stimmen waren noch gut. Das verdient unsere Achtung und Liebe. Dankeschön

Oh my god, they altered the lyrics in Love Hurts from "I´m young, I know" to "You´re young, I´m old" That sure brings a tear to one´s eyes, it is beautiful.

I listened to different other versions. Maybe I'm biased but only the Everlys were able to capture the right mood for a haunting murder ballad... And at their 70s, the brotherly Everly harmonies never did change.

Thanks for posting this stellar performance. The Everly Brothers voices with the addition of that pedal steel is beyond words. Too bad we don't have a studio recording of this version. I just heard the release of this on the "Born Yesterday" album. It's missing the pedal steel and what a shame that is because the vocals are impeccable but the instrumental arrangement sounds empty compared to this version. I suppose the producer was going for a less "countryified" sound, however the Everly's corrected that mistake by upgrading to the pedal steel in the live performance. What a night and day difference it makes, even with the unavoidable poor quality of a live video performance.

Very few songs highlight their marvelous harmony as "Lee it be me " does. So singularly beautiful -- even in their 60s. And I love Phil's little cough at the end and the grin on their faces as the song ended. I don't know if it was part of the "Old Friends" tour with S/G or a different tour on their own in the same year. And to the comment of "awful" -- things don't always have to be perfect to be wonderful. They are 50 years into their career, one year away from their final concert together ever. And they still never lost that amazing harmony.

So delighted to find this on here. I wonder which show it was? I saw this tour. Watching this now (my favourite song) is so poignant. The smiles between Don and Phil at the end say it all. RIP dear Phil Everly xx

Right there with you; family voice harmonies are the ultimate combination for the sweetest harmony ever to soften any hard heart. Loved them since 1958, at the age of 11.

Perhaps you weren't there when their sound hit our years back in the 50's and the swell of world fame the Everly's rose to. Their contribution to Rock and Country is now legendary and it's apparent it will continue forever now. Their later performances, like on this post, show their gorgeous harmonies as sweet and tight as always. .... Ever the Everlys.

Go to 2:35 after you listen to the dear ones give us their harmonies. When they hit that crescendo of harmony I could just melt up to the sky and never come back. Thanks for these posts....I just visited Central City for the first time. Saw them on their 80's Reunion Tour and it was a thrill of a lifetime.

I was writing a book, when it was mysteriously deleted! I guess it wasn't meant to be. So, suffice it to say that I first saw Don and Phil in 1960 - two shows in one day, thanks to my parents. A lifetime later, I can't get them out of my head, having recently watched and rewatched the Reunion concert and Odyssey. Brilliant. It left me wanting to see them more recently. Your videos are fabulous. Thank you so much for sharing.
