The detector on the catenary wire is a mechanical switch. I've seen similar devices in HK. But in HK Tramways, the detectors are used to reset the track switches and catenary switches back into the straight position.
Train fan here, love the vid 🔥 🔥 May I know how to go to the platforms to film? Can you tap in and out with one ticket multiple times?

Naturally, a train ticket is required when boarding a train. Apart from that, there is also an admission ticket, which is not for boarding, but for seeing off passengers and using the shops in the station. In Europe and the USA, I have heard that you are free to enter the platform and station premises as the train passes through a ticket gate on board the train, but in Japan, there is a ticket gate at the station entrance and you need either a boarding ticket or an admission ticket to enter the area beyond the ticket gate. Admission tickets do not allow you to board the train, but they do allow you to enter the station for two hours for about $1. If you just want to see the trains, the admission ticket is the best option. However, if you ever come to Japan, you should take even one section of the train!
