I wish these videos would just tell us the main actual difference which is the ERV uses a paper based core, where moisture absorbs from either air stream and flows to the lower humidity stream. The ERV doesn't "remove" the humidity, it just takes the edge off if there is a big imbalance. The HRV use a plastic or metal core that doesn't allow the moisture to "wick" between the ingoing and outgoing streams.

I have a Boiler Mate indirect water heater. It was installed in my new home in 2007. We have had no problems. My question is since the demand for hot water has changed in our home can I turn off or on the unit with a smart device from my smart phone. My thinking is the only time I need the extra flow is when I am using my pressure washer for cleaning etc. My gas boiler can keep up with my normal daily needs.
