19:41 All cheap built trailers have 24 inch roof and luan wood to give strength,like you said they put screws in it,should use 3m double sided tape and 16 inch roof with no wood,and one piece rolled roof

I'm not interested in helping the Chinese buy their next aircraft carrier, so I work to not buy Chinese products when I have a choice. I bought the Aloris.

How do you size the 3 phase on switch at the beginning and the momentary on switch for the start capacitor? What amperage are they rated for? Can you put up part numbers?

Why not use a T or i section stock that way we won't need any drilling and tapping and a flat stock.

I just watched your Linear Slide Bearing video from years ago. I was wondering, do you think the linear rail provides a smooth enough slide for camera work? Or would V slot plate and track be better? I really just need to construct a vertical track camera rig for ascending and descending shots. And I don't know the first thing about cnc.

Sorry. Just saw this. I'm not familiar with the V slot design as you describe it. Ball bearing linear rails, either round or square would work great. They produce a smooth movement which I would expect to be paramount to what your trying to do. P.

Up north where I live they get economy trailers with fiberboard in them which is heavier and worse than plywood even! They are charging $10,000 for the size trailer and it is a piece of junk. I personally ordered my trailer from Georgia and spent $6,000 and got upgraded 16 on Center framing everywhere extra height and poly core siding for 40% less money. The trailer Market is very deceptive in you have to watch out it is a very tricky Market to navigate. Great video! There aren't many videos on KZbin showing the build qualities of these trailers in the differences between the manufacturers.

Hat post wall studs and Z post tops are the cheapest and worst quality parts. If they use those I would stay away from them. The tube are much stronger and better quality.
@RydinginStyle72
@RydinginStyle72 4 ай бұрын
Polycore is the new way to side a trailer. 4 times thicker siding. All the Georgia companies in 2024 all have dual electric brakes on their axles. I have looked at the cheapest economy trailers and cannot find any that do not have dual electric brakes anymore. You also need to look at frame cross members because some of the more expensive trailers have cross members every 24 in on Center and the cheaper ones are actually 16 on Center which is stronger and a better build quality. You really have to do a lot of research nowadays because you're overpaying for less quality with some Brands and you are getting a much better deal on others paying much less. The bottom line is you really have to do your due diligence and learn what you are purchasing when it comes to trailers!

Just get in touch with the company and replace the offset bearing for an on-size bearing.

Make sure to put all the start capacitors in when you do that portion of the build. I saw working up with the run caps and thought I was supposed to do the same for starts. The reduced amount caused a catastrophic failure of the caps.
@MrLonstar
@MrLonstar 4 ай бұрын
Good to know, this explains why I burnt up my start caps! I used a 3ph, 3hp motor when building and testing, I didn't want to take the chance of doing damage to my intended motor, which is 10hp. When I got the 3hp to work fine, I connected the 10hp motor. I added a small uf start cap to boost the power a bit when I switched to the 10hp motor (it was all I had on hand), but knew the total MFD of the start caps I connected wasn't quite enough. I thought it would be ok until I bought a bigger cap. They started the motor a few times while doing the balancing with the run caps, but then they stopped working. Now I understand why. Thanks.

I have a LeBlonde Regal lathe too. How wonderful to see such similarity with your setup. I just purchased an Aloris set. I was using the original tool holders that came with the lathe for some years and found them to be difficult to work with at 60-70 years old. Anyway, I did not have to mill my own T-nut. I purchased during their August 15% off sale. I had nothing to loctite. All the set screws were SAE and properly fit my hex wrenches right out of the box. I will never regret my purchase, having looked at how the Chinese support this or that on the international stage. Yes, the Aloris was much more expensive. Freedom, is however, not free.

Great vid. How do the rails attach to the aluminium backing plate? Are they screwed in?
@sbirdranch
@sbirdranch 5 ай бұрын
Yes. If you turn them over, the screws go through the aluminum base and into the rail.

Thank you for the short, and on point, video. Much appreciated. I have a quick question. I am making a system where I will lift an empty bead to get it out of the way. Do you think it would be possible to put two rails in series, to increase the length, and have the wagon cross to the next rail? Not much precision in my project, so I guess that helps.
@sbirdranch
@sbirdranch 7 ай бұрын
It could be done. You can remove the extruded base so you have just the round rail. The ends that adjoin would need to be faced off. They come with just a saw cut. Then you could add a precision dowel rod between them to maintain alignment. Re-install the aluminum and off you go. Good Luck ~P

@@sbirdranch Thank you so much. I think this will be the solution. I will lift the bed with Dynema rope, and use the rails to guide the bed so it only goes up and down. Thanks again for the video.

Solinoid - contractor - motor starter Solinoid has a magnetic coil when energized performs a mechanical task ( door latch, valves, bell, ...etc) Contractor (relay) has a magnetic coil when energized performs a mechanical task of closing electrical contacts( switch or switches) Lights, control circuits, motors( if HP rated) ...etc. Motor starter has a magnetic coil when energized performs a mechanical task to close electrical contacts and also has an intrigal motor protective device incorporated with it. Some are resettable if tripped and have interlocking contacts of their own to interrupt the starting circuit

The bar lock is the upgrade from the RV latch and an extra charge for all of the trailers that I've shopped. As for your awning and porch light ... you will exceed the legal width limit for all interstates and a lot of state roads too. I doubt they'll give you too a lot of crap for it but they can.
