Wow, what a pleasant memory for me. My first job in GSI Singapore Computer Data Center, working on TIAC 827 computer(see 13:45) as a maintenance engineer. The TIAC 827 is a 18 bit machine and the hardware architecture was a classic Von Neuman with paper tape reader for input and a one inch digital tape transport made by Ampex for output. CPU Memory size? How about 1K core memory later upgraded to 4K core memory! Magnetic core, not MOS memory chips! Memory read/write cycle almost 1 microsec (if memory serves me correctly). Folklore was rampant that warned against wearing polyester clothing, especially undergarments as the dreaded "Core Memory Error" could just pop up on the console and the program will just ground to a halt. Well trained in Dallas, we understood the machine inside and out and did component troubleshooting. I consider myself one of the fortunate few who had the chance to work on this TI computer system specifically designed for digital siesmic data processing.

Could Wavelet Processing also be used to remove audio distortion as well? Asking for a friend. Jokes aside, this video was very easy to follow, thanks for sharing.

I work for them June of 81 till June of 83.... I consider it one of the biggest mistakes of My Life quitting that company. I work mostly shallow water crews. Mobile Bay Mississippi River the bayous of Louisiana. In the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana........ My brother convinced me to quit my job we were going to go into the stucco business . Which did not work out very well. He's dead and gone and I'm still doing stucco at the age of 62 zero retirement...

The Thunder Wagon met its end spring of 1991 after many years of sitting. We dismantled, cut up the frames, and scrapped them out. Was a great era of innovation. Rick Peterson, GSI, 1980-91.

Great to see this. I started in data processing in 1975, and knew many of the people mentioned. Thank you GSH.

Greetings. I worked for TI/GSI in the computer center in Dallas from 1974 to the 1980s using the TIMAP computer shown. Thank you for the movie. My name is Angel Kosfiszer and not Chacho Tomas, but I can not edit the name on the message
