Good one Matt and Gabor, as usual. Yes, not everyone can sing in the opera, unless maybe in the Anvil Chorus. LOL. And important to listen to others for advice, particular if they know more than you know,... or Think you know. ;D Cheers, getting to be sweater weather in Oro Valley, in morning, so, time to get outside and paint again, soon! : )

I haven’t mixed viridian with alizarin crimson but I have with phthalo green. It makes the most beautiful black! I joined the waitlist for your class starting November 5th. I really love your work and hope I can learn a thing or two.

Been painting in oils for many years, but never stop learning. This is one of the best lessons I’ve seen, ever. I know to simplify, but easier said than done. This lesson will give me confidence to choose more complicated scenes. Thank you!

Beautiful work! So when you add the alternate color notes do you blend them in (wet on wet) or do you prefer adding them once the base color is dry (wet on dry)?? Thanks!
@TucsonArtAcademyOnlineАй бұрын
You can do it either way, but just remember if it’s wet and wet you have to be direct otherwise you’re gonna mix the two colors together and you don’t want to do that
@gary313Ай бұрын
I have't. always heard that reflections of dark objects are lighter and the reflections of light objects are darker. The Chase piece shows that and the onion doesn't

as a talented artist did you know this instinctively, AND were taught too, or just education? Landscapes are what I love to paint, but this does not come naturally to me, and I wonder about more lessons, more painting or should I try pottery ?
@TucsonArtAcademyOnlineАй бұрын
What Mitch showed you he learned. Everybody that paints have talent. Which means you have also. But with this being said you have to practice six days a week if you want to get better

In Russia, by the way, Levitan is one of the most famous artists. Especially, thanks to the school course of Russian language, where there is a section on writing essays on the theme of nature and paintings of Russian artists are used as illustrations. Thus, his works "Golden Autumn", "Evening Bells" and others are familiar even to children.
