From someone who went to Wigan Casino we didn't look like half of these. There's more of selector/ska look than real northern soulies. The dancing has little passion shown and more like motions learnt. Defo not the greatest dancers by far.

gill soper vg dancer and the late great chantelle from bedford was an outstanding dancer, likes of trickster bit of a show off imo, much prefer gethro's style + a great bloke too, northern dancing done well takes time to learn and practise, watching and copying others + then putting in your own touches,AND not being embarrassed of falling over + messing up,sadly not many bother to put in the work now,but when its done well its a thing of beauty, another thing many great dancers don't want cameras in their faces,no surprise many great dancers kept away from the casino filming, personally I feel it's a craft worth learning and the dj's appreciate it,better than playing to half arsed punters

The best nights of my life were at Morecambe Pier, 1983 -86.. they let us take our scooters right up to the top end of the pier at 10pm. the line up of scooters was impressive...then into the Starlight room for some 60's oldies to get us in the mood 70's always followed in the main room, and then some stompers, those sounds were rare, mixed up with some classics from Wigan/Torch etc, and a few Mecca sounds, which is my heritage

Its an outdated perspective of nsoul scene, this style of dancing petered out by mid 80s as the style of records that got spun changed quite dramatically from what had gone before.

Some of the scenes great dancers on there. Let's get this right people on this video have been around for years Trickster, Gill Soper, Steve Cato etc. I think the music has been dubbed over the film and they aren't even dancing to those records. It's not a good reflection of how well they can actually dance.
