Let me say this, I love Brent Faiyaz. Like really love his music. BUT, wasteland was not it for me. And it was really bad for me most importantly because it felt, well, empty. The beats were lacking, his voice wasn’t hitting on many songs for some reason, and since his lyrics are basically repetitive, it was hard for me to enjoy the album. I never mind his repetitive lyrics because he sets up his songs so well, it just works. But since the music was so empty, it brought a lot of attention to the lyrics and I really did not like it at ALL. And I listened to wasteland for weeks before forming this opinion. His album just don’t hit for me, besides maybe two, possibly three songs.
