I've been trying to master it for like close to 2 years now and still nowhere near farouq. Maybe I'm missing the heavier quad and the low pitch props and my rates are probably wrong as well. There's so much to get in your setup right before you can get close to making it look right. It's definitely skill and there's a school to learning it.

Awesome video brother... Very well said. I think another key reason for Sbang's emergence is due to the lack of flying spots. Most sbangers can't find many bando spots so most fly at open fields or juicy trees, and when you fly in open fields there's nothing more you can do other than pushing the cleaness and speed of your movements. And up to certain limits you run out of the power limit and roll pitch yaw throttle combos and that's when sbang style has reached its bottleneck. Whereas other styles like flying in bandos, there's always freshness in the locations and the lines so it's always fun to watch. Absolutely agree on your view that juicy is a work of art. I'm still blown away by Johnny's 2018 freestyle videos and amazed at how he manages inertia and momentum so well, while getting that perfect cleaness. His videos are not just demonstrations of skills but also aesthetically pleasing to watch
@fpvwithpatrickСағат бұрын
Very true dude. It was definitely born out of a creativity from having only open fields to fly in. I did think that it would be cool for more people to explore mixing styles, like flying sbang in a bando or other places, but the problem with that is the lack of space. It's hard to push the throttle in tight spots, although Marius did a great job in his sbando video. But most pilots just wouldn't be able to reach that level. I'm also still blown away by Johnny's old videos...will they ever get old?! 🤩

more people fly today then ever, more people sbang now then ever, we've just got board of similar uploaded videos over and over, youtube is flooded, its about getting out and having fun and mentally decompressing, but its the persons flight location that builds a fpv pilots style, sbang guys usually have somewhat boring large open location, with no bandos, parks, or mountains to fly daily, so they eventually get board of flying in circles and diving the same 3 trees over and over and just start to throw their sticks around for the excitement with the goal to get as wild as possible without crashing, after a while it becomes sbang as they learn more flow and add more moves. but as for good video its more about if they got a good camera that handles the motion and killer editing skillz to make it watchable, like not having a shitty microphone, lol
@fpvwithpatrick53 минут бұрын
Good points bro. I think it was definitely a style that was created from only being able to fly in open field spots. They had no other option than to start getting creative with their freestyle. I also agree about the editing skills, etc. A well produced video is always more enjoyable to watch 👍

It’s personally not my favourite, I prefer cinematic flying and more normal freestyle but I can definitely understand and appreciate the skill involved. I can’t see how any real pilots can say it doesn’t take skill, sure if you are high above a field just randomly wiggling the sticks then it doesn’t take much skill but anyone that can fly even at a basic level can’t deny that there is a lot of skill involved in flying sbang near obstacles and the ground.
@fpvwithpatrick57 минут бұрын
During the sbang hype a few years back, I remember seeing a lot of haters (usually on Facebook surprise surprise 😂) and comment sections full with people making comments like these. Pilots saying they could do if it they wanted but just chose not to because the style is ugly haha.

One thing with sbang videos is that the sbang masters only upload flights where they have the feeling they have improved. They fly on a level that is far above ours, yet if they fly "only as good as last time" we'll never see the flight footage.

intresting video about the history of sbang but i am kinda upset that you never mentioned aux plumes. i think he would have fitted in pretty good. anyways, what would you say is the key of that super locked flat yaw spins? they look so surreal and effortles. I fly at 27degrees and its a pain in the ass to pull them off!! can´t wait for the next video!
@fpvwithpatrick59 минут бұрын
I wouldn't say that Auxplumes is a sbang pilot. He sometimes implements some 'sbang-esque' moves but he has a unique style all of his own. Very different to all these guys. He is an amazing talent though. For a super locked flat yaw spin you just need to find the correct angle to position the horizon before you do the yaw. Then practice in the sim over and over locking in that angle. That's for inverted yaws. For the non inverted ones they are harder in my opinion and I'm still working on these too. But to position your drone flat will often mean pointing up at the sky a little more, which is unnatural if you're travelling forwards. It's probably easier to do after a split-s or roll type manoeuvre though I would say. Again though it's just practice!

But I would say in response that there are clearly different categories of freestyle and whilst everyone does have their own unique style and flow, it's clear to see what type of style they are flying. i prefer clips that fits the music and the ones that are more in sync with the music ie. fast combos or stick bangz on a smooth lofi track wouldnt fit very well but ie. on a hard edm trap beat much more if its smooth slower or stick banged or a mix of booth it depends really on the location, the grade and the music (atleast for me)

Great video man I love these style breakdowns. For me honestly it’s kinda like once you’ve seen the best dudes sbang there just is not much variation past that. I think a big reason those guys loved that style was because of the types of places they flew. Generally it would be big empty fields and sbang was a way to make it fun and interesting. Being blessed myself with lots of fun places to fly I find it a lot more fun and satisfying to fly the spot as opposed to flying just the drone, if that makes any sense. I always appreciate the heck out of that style tho and draw inspiration from those amazing pilots. It’s definitely an art and I love it 🥰.
@MadfishFPV12 сағат бұрын
Maybe I need to get into sbang. All I have is fields haha
@fpvwithpatrick12 сағат бұрын
yeah very true bro. I think it was a style born out of creativity from flying in what we would class as less interesting spots. I think your point about a lack of variation is intriguing and whilst I am inclined to agree, I think that's what makes it so interesting - the fact that sbangers (the top pilots anyway) are able to keep your attention even just flying in open fields. I honestly could watch the same sbang videos over and over 😂 I think part of the beauty is the minor variations in the combos and keeping it engaging whilst not doing the same thing again and again. Crazy hard 🥵
