I thought riding down here in Brick NJ was bad. You're a good and brave cyclist!

How much of a gap do you leave between cars that you pass? From the footage it seems like you could get doored at any minute, I usually leave at least a metre.
@b.Roll78Ай бұрын
I am more concerned with being rear-ended than doored. There have been a few close calls over time. I keep my fingers hovering over the breaks and look into mirrors of cars I pass to see if occupied.

Imagine my surprise when I saw myself on a random KZbin thumbnail. 🤣 Thanks for these videos. It was so much fun watching them and reliving my first Five Boros experience. Nice meeting you in person and I hope to ride with you again really soon. 0:41

This is a pretty exciting start to what I think is a 40 mile ride? It's always great to be a part of a community of enthusiasts, whether it's Doom or Biking. More to come, I presume. Looks you had a fun time here, nice. 24:25 The Great Wall of Bromptons! 🚲 And for me, always nice to see a reference to "Bleecker Street" 00:15 (I'm a Chicagoan, but also a nerdy kind of a NYC-phile, it's a great old Simon & Garfunkel song). Roll on!
@b.Roll782 ай бұрын
This is part 7 of 30 over two days. Yes, when you get a Brompton you gain life membership the "cool kids club" as you will see in a future video. Bleecker is a great hang-out spot that's good for people watching at dusk. Didn't know about the Simon and Garfunkel connection. Someday I hope to come and ride around Chicago.

@@b.Roll78 oh wow, part 7!?! Somehow I was oblivious to the other episodes, my apologies. I've not been able to get on youtube much recently but I will have to find time to watch the previous stuff and then stay current. I really enjoy these views of new york. I don't get into the city of Chicago as often as I'd like to anymore, and I miss the urban action. I get a vicarious thrill of the 'big city' through your videos.

Good shit bro, 1st time seeing that side road route of Bronx River Rd instead of the usual parkway route when headed towards Bronxville. Def took in all the scenic views, i'm assuming this leads to your other Bronxville video which i'm about to check out,. Again nice tour via Bronx River Rd and Midland bro
@b.Roll782 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and commenting! Yes, it was very scenic if a bit crazy at times (ducking under super-low bridges, lots and lots and lots of hills). Unfortunately my camera didn't last till the end so you didn't see the last part in this series (the big dam near Valhalla).

"Bronxville"... The things I learn from your videos.... 2:49 Doggo! After a bit of a break 18:00, off we go again! This might just be me, but the "shadows" throughout this video are so cool, e.g., 23:08 24:00 re-calculating. 😆 24:36 okay, the sudden disappearance of shadows is freaking me out! It's the end of the world, as we know it! 24:48 Shadows return. The world is ok! 26:25 "On your...right! On your... left!" She just ain't giving you the right-of-way, ha ha. This looks like it was a great ride, very enjoyable to watch. Even with dead memory card, nice job.

Yes. It was unusually bad that day, have never seen more than one or two pedestrians in the BB BL before and because of this have avoided going that way since.

Really nice travelogue, looked like a great day for biking. Filled with so many people and great sights and uh yeah, traffic. 9:23, just wow. So, I've been watching these interesting historical videos lately, of urban scenes (colorized / AI enhanced) from sometimes 100 or more years ago. New York, Chicago, L.A., etc. "NASS" is a good youtube channel for example. I just find it all so fascinating. 100 years from now, if videos like yours survive (and I hope they will), it will give future generations a glimpse of what life was REALLY like. You didn't realize you were making history here, did you? 😄

Your shadow at the beginning of the ride is hypnotizing. I almost had a heart attack when you switched lanes and the car looked like it almost hit you ( 2:45). You'd love Buenos Aires lol. Beautiful ❤

The views over the bridge are much better from the pedestrian walkway and not the gutter bike lane that there now is, and from the other direction. The Manhattan Bridge though has better views. Maybe someday I can show you across.

@b.Roll7811 ай бұрын
Short answer is there is a lot of poor people there and most of the hyper-expensive real estate is not occupied, just owned as as asset. While there are plenty of rich people in some parts of Manhattan there are many more in other big world cities. In the parts of the island depicted in this video series people are more likely to be poor to middle class than rich.

Such a beautiful part of new York city, but the camera is terrible

What don't you like? The angle? That it is fixed to the handlebars? The video quality when published on KZbin is far worse than what comes out of the camera. I do not know why but something about how KZbin 'translates' the video makes it look far worse which is sad.
