It’ll never happen, no funding available for North West, all the spending is in the South East.

Wow! How wonderful to see that Liverpool is at the forefront of technological innovation, developing machines that can bottle neon green unspecified liquid at the approx speed of 1 unit per minute...🤷🏼♀️ Now can we see what these 'public/private' partnerships (Mussolini's definition of Fascism?) in the 'life, sciences' are really up to? And do the people of Liverpool get any say in any of this?

Why hasn’t the Mayor released the environmental assessment that reports the disturbance of toxic heavy metals in the Mersey’s river bed (from centuries of industry pumping waste into the river). Makes the scheme commercially unviable? Build 50,000 social houses with solar panels and battery storage with the money instead of wasting it on some folly dreamed up in head of a former bricklayer, who’s political career appears to consist of standing two steps behind Andy Burnham 😂

Sooooo basically a glorified articulated bus with wheel covers with a gadgetbahn-ass name. Come on just order something from solaris, mercedes or MAN or volvo. Mainland Europe equipment is reliable and is very high quality. I dont get why we have to get these unproven companies for this project, who literally try to rebeand what is a simple articulated high-capacity bus. Also im guessing this service is meant to resemble a BRT (bus rapid transit), but how is that going to work when this city doesn't even have functional bus lanes? I mean SURE there are a few very worn down road markings on several roads that show a "bus lane", but literally every single driver i've seen ignores them. So if thats our BRT infrastructure, then this thing will be just as bad as the average arriva bus. If you want to upgrade the busses thats fine, but dont try to sell this as some sort of revolutionary fix. Its not. Unless actual road infrastructure upgrades go into fruition that improve public transport, then i see this as nothing more than a fancy move for the sake of votes.
@OliverKirkham4 ай бұрын
I completely agree with you that BRT is stupid. (all of the cost of a tram with the slowness or a bus) however in relation to your first point: these are made by a major European bus company (Van Vool) so they are proven products from a long-standing proven manufacturer. they're used in France and Italy, so I wouldn't have reliability concerns with them. I dont think I'd really class this as a gadgetbahn, just kinda gadgetbahn adjacent

@@OliverKirkham No, he said the journey in this will take a fraction of the time from the airport to the city centre..... clearly there is some unspoken of magic where traffic lights and other traffic does not get in the way

This is an absolute waste of time. What Huyton really needed was either a decent Haberdashery or an art place for workshops to be held and exhibition to be held. This was especially needed since the space in Huyton library no longer has exhibitions anymore.

This is quite shocking and very shameful. You have to create a charity event to raise funds for the homeless and yet £millions is being spent on net zero initiatives all for the benefit of the rick big corporations

This obsession with net zero. £70million on bike lanes, what a waste of public money. Hardly anyone uses the bike lanes. This country isn't Spain, noone will be cycling when it's pissing down everyday in January. All these green initiatives are wasting public money and the more important issues are getting neglected

Why was this given to 'The Beatles Story', in a position where people need to pay to get in? This would've been far better placed in our fantastic and free to enter 'Museum of Liverpool'. Did 'The Beatles Story' pay for it, and if so, how much? If not, what muppet on the LCRCA approved this? I think there needs to be an investigation into their accounts to see if they received any backhanders.

The idea of dropping off the kids on some distance from the school may certainly be loved by the neighbouring residents. But the side effect is that this will be happening now on another street, making other people potentially unhappy and complaining about dosens of cars parking to pick up the kids. What was the experience about this aspect of closed street?

This is great news - but when are the new trains that were due in 2019/2020 going to actually start being used on the rest of the Merseyrail network? OK... I realise that LCRCA is not WBC... but please, can someone please give Merseyrail a kick up the backside to get the new trains rolled out across the network?

@theelectricmonk3909 Жыл бұрын
maps.app.goo.gl/pFHPZz5Yw3FF93pr9 - the Merseyrail electrics used to run as far as Kirkby (next station towards Liverpool), where you'd change onto a Northern line (part of the national network) train towards Wigan. However, between Rainford and Kirkby, the track used to be single track; it's now been dualed, and Headbolt Lane added, which is now where you change from Merseyrail to Northern Line. The battery trains meant that the Merseyrail 650v dc 3rd rail didn't need to be extended to Headbolt Lane, which presumably would have cost more than the fleet of battery-powered trains.
