It’s frustrating because they still exist but they aren’t on a large platform like level 1. They are all small random crews nowadays with not much reach to a large audience. You need a good sized motivated crew to help with these builds, you need a lot of snow which we haven’t had in recent past seasons, lots of skiers also don’t want to hit rails that have already been hit in other videos as well. There’s also just less motivating factors to want to make a crazy ski video like this nowadays, not many skiers are getting paid these days the same way they were back then, especially for street. Lots of work having to find the spot, build it, get to it, not get kicked out, land a trick, get the clip etc. Listen to the newest two planker casabon episode. He was getting paid a good amount of money back then. Being able to take full winters off and take funded trips around the world to only film skiing makes it much easier to focus on projects like these. Nowadays life is more expensive all around, health insurance is expensive if you get hurt and most people need to work mon-fri 9-5 leaving only weekends to film street, and most people would rather ski at the park/resort on weekends. Unless you go out and do street builds at night after work.
