PURE COUNTRY GOLD!🏆...Thank you so very much for posting and sharing this "lost and rarely heard anymore" gem from Johnny, that peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart for two consecutive weeks back in December 1974 for him...Being such a huge hit, it's certainly a shame that this fine tune is virtually ignored by classic country radio stations today!😥 I thoroughly enjoyed listening, and the sound quality is TOP-NOTCH too!👍...Let the good music play on, and take care! Such a beautiful song and the words: If you hold love too loosely, it will fly away, if you hold love too tightly, it will die, these words are so true. This was my mother's song. She sang it all of the time as her five children grew up. Sadly, we lost momma a year ago on December 6th. This song was on the top of the list to play at her memorial service. All four of her remaining children (we lost our brother in 2021) sang for her that time. My wife said to me that I sang louder than my sisters. I just said, "It was for momma."

@Liveswithregrets12 күн бұрын
@@candacejames9480I'll say a prayer for you as well, Sister. I can call you that, right? Hey, if you grew up listening to this music, then you know where your heart is. That makes us all kin! Mom passed at sixty-seven years old, just six days after my 40th birthday. I'll be 41 in nine days, so you can do the math if you'd like. It's not going to be an easy rest of the year for either of us, I suppose. I read in one of the grief books which I own that the the greatest losses a person will face in life are of a spouse and a parent. I guess they were assuming that nobody would ever have to bury a child. Anyhow, I lost a wife when I was 24, nine days after we were married, October 23, 2008. In the book, that topped the list. I don't know though, however, because losing mom hurt bad. Really bad. She and I had always been close. Watching my dad drink himself to death isn't helping. I can't say much, because after my wife's passing, I hit the whiskey bottle for years. She and I were together shy of two years. My parents had 50 years together. 5 kids, for still remaining (we lost my baby brother in '21), 4 grandkids, and a great granddaughter that turned 4 yesterday. I guess she was over at my dad's and climbed into my mom's chair where Pop keeps a big picture of Mom. She turned to my sister, her grandma, and said, "This is Mawmaw Bert," and gave the picture a kiss. Not a dry eye in the house, Sister. Children are more perceptive than people think. Sister, I want to thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about your Mother. I have chills right now so I know she had her heart right at her final breath in this world. Death is not the end. It's simply a change of address. Jesus came to take both of our mommas to Glory! Isn't that exciting?! If we keep our hearts directly on Him, we will get to be with all if them when our name is called, although I have no doubt I'll have a few things to answer for. I believe I'm covered by the blood shed on Calvery Hill. You are as well. God bless you, Sister. You and your family. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

Regina, I lost my "Sweet Baby" Judy Ann in June of this year, she had a really bad stroke in 2013 and couldn't do anything for herself, I took care of her at here at home for 11 years, I could have put her in a nursing home, but I loved her too much to do that. I was with her until the end, I was holding her when she took her last breath, she died here at home, we had been together for 55 years. Here is the link for her obituary. www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/memorialpage.asp?id=69383&locid=28
