Stephanie, this is 3 yrs old so don't know if you check the comments but, I plan on making 36 of these as table gift for my guild's quilt retreat. Such a cute idea. The first one I made had a few wrinkles around the edge and there happened to be a glue stick sitting next to me on my cutting table. The second one I made, I smeared some glue on the fabric disc and positioned my button cap before putting it in the rubber cup. This allowed me to tuck in the edges of my fabric more smoothly as there was enough glue to hold them in place while I put the locking cap in. Also, my fussy cut stayed put. The second one had smooth edges. Thanks for posting this. Great idea for quick gifty things. You said you were a bit of a perfectionist so thought I'd pass this on.

Hi! Loved your video! Great tips! I just wanted to ask you whats the name of your scroll bar, where could I find it? I'm planning on buying one because I don't feel comfortable with my mermaid in a hoop. I would like to put her in a bigger frame, one that I could carry with me, but I think I need a scroll bar just as yours. Thank you! Take care, Angela from Perú.

If you have modpoge would that work instead of tacky glue?
@littlelionstitchery9359 Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I am not sure. Do you mean applying Mod Podge over under and over the fabric? I like the softness from the fabric personally so I wouldn't apply anything over it. If you just mean under the fabric as an adhesive, give it a shot and let me know. :)

Two tips... if you cut your strips “ on the bias” you will have no frays..and a thinner strip is need to wrap around may 3/4 “ no more. 🇨🇦

From my experience, overtime and use the throw away canvas does soften, but that does make it quicker to fall apart, so there is give and take there-

What a terrific idea! Thank you for sharing. After some use, my E-6000 glue got all gummed up. I got tired of digging out the dried-up plug before I could use it. I swapped out the cover for a cup hook which screws right into the nozzle. The best thing I've ever done and so much easier to use now. Again, thank you for a great idea.

Might help with the ripples/bubbles: If you have enough fabric to cut the strips bias, they'll stretch around the hoop more evenly. Do you think a glue stick might work? Or spreading a super thin layer of glue with a foam brush for more even thin coverage?
@littlelionstitchery93593 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I believe someone told me that they use a glue stick. I've been wanting to try. I was doing it quickly but you are supposed to let the glue get a little tacky. You can try a foam brush but I think it would be too messy. I use the foam brush to brush on glue when I use paper.

You can. It makes the fabric softer and gets rid of the sizing. I will admit that I don't usually unless I am dyeing the fabric 😅. I do after the stitching is finished most of the time.

Yeah, the cat attractor. I might not see my cat all day UNTIL I pull out my scroll frame and then, bam, here she comes! For whatever reason, my little girl is obsessed with laying on the mesh/frame the second I lay it down. Why is that? My cats are very, very spoiled. They have toys, they have special stairs, special chairs, etc., so they are not deprived, but will not stay off this scroll frame/mesh!
