Stop calling yourself a dynasty! Do you not know what a dynasty is? A dynasty is a team that win MULTIPLE championships in a two year span, a three year span. Have the Astros done that? No..... You haven't even come close to that. You have 1 legitimate ring you are not a dynasty.

Quitcherbitchin'. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this team. The Astros have been so good for so long they decided to give the rest of the division a head start. That's all.

Love this show. I will say, you guys keep saying “6.5; April, etc”, the issue is they’re not giving any signs whatsoever that the gap will not only get bigger. The way they’re playing, it should be “It’s April and we’re only 6.5 back, how many game back will be be in July the way we’re playing”

Astros starting pitchers have given up 30 FIRST inning runs. Some of these games have been over by the 2nd inning. Teams aren't built to come back every game. They have used quite a bit of minor league starting pitchers. That should not have ever happened. They can't be running Abreu out there. Bagwell and Crane just need to swallow their pride. And Singleton isn't the answer there. They needed to have addressed this in the offseason. Verlander was injured in the offseason and I guess their plan was to have minor leaguers as depth? They should have accounted for additional injuries. Diaz needs to move down a spot. This is really his first full season that he gets a real opportunity to get consistent ABs. His playing time last season was a joke. Instead, they have him cleaning up Abreu's incompetence. Hit Peña in front of him or move him to the #2 spot and that will drop everyone thereafter one spot, including Diaz. On Meyers, he didn't even make the postseason roster last season. Had they replaced Brantley, Chas would be starting at CF. 🤦‍♀️I don't like that Bagwell and Dana say that the team just has to play better. There are things that Dana has to fix, like 1st base. And there are things that he didn't address in the offseason. Have some kind of accountability. They're "analytics" dept spends their time flipping baseball cards. Don't just ask the team to clean up your mess. Bagwell, fix what you ****** up, shut the hell up and stop overstepping your role. He and the other Hall of Famers have zero FO/GM experience to be making decisions for this organization. In terms of Espada, Dusty never even went out to argue calls for the players. He never argued with umpires. So Joe Espada going out there is way more than what Dusty ever did in that respect. I also think it was the right call to take Verlander out. He is 41 years old. There was only 1 out with 2 men on. He was at 95 pitches, and it was barely his 2nd game back after barely having a Spring Training. I always said they should have prioritized on upgrading the catching position over 1st base in the 2022 offseason. There was no worse player in the lineup than Maldonado. It would have been the biggest upgrade for the team. They could have acquired a decent back up for Yuli, who wasn't going to cost what Abreu did. Yuli was a lot better defensively than Abreu and he was part of the core group of players. They would have eliminated the offensive hole that Maldonado was last season. No, if Dusty were still the manager, he would have still had Abreu hitting cleanup and Maldonado starting every game. We would be winless right now! 🤦‍♀️

Penix Jr, Nix, and Pearsall were crazy weird picks. Every other pick was conservative and really close to what the general consensus mocks were. Texans really about to have top defensive talent fall to 42

I prefer the blood red to the bright red for battle red uniforms, but as long as the helmet doesn't clash I'll be happy. The thing that bothers me the most is the horns facing backward on the helmet. I've tried for years to make the logo look to me like the horns are forward, but can't sustain seeing it that way. And now they've confirmed that they're backward by what they did on the helmet. A charging bull with his horns on backwards isn't nearly as intimidating. Stroud is Cali to the core. He's home and not coming here for a uniform unveiling. JJ was all about Wisconsin the first few years, too. He changed that up some and considers Houston home as much as Wisconsin. I keep hoping CJ will stay around long enough to do the same.

After a day of watching and listening, this is my understanding. The only way they fought through to get the H-Town blue was to show the NFL that it's the color of the Houston flag, the old street names on the curbs, etc. It has more association with Houston than just the Oilers (and isn't quite the same). Amy Stunk did all she could to stop it. The Deep Steel blue is close to the original, just a shade darker. The original was made by Reebok. When the NFL shifted to Nike, they didn't HAVE the original blue in their palette, so the unis actually got lighter. Watching on TV I never noticed when that happened. I wish the home collar was red and white, but so many fans wanted traditional they went pretty traditional with a few tweaks. At least they dumped that enormous red collar several years ago. It was ugly. I'm old, so tradition is good with me, but our 'throwbacks' aren't going to look much different from our home jerseys when the day comes. I mean, it won't be like changing from the bumblebee uniforms of the Steelers to today.

Not only does the entire pitching staff look absolutely awful, this lineup is not fighting back either. I’d have some hope if the pitching was bad and the offense was fighting back and making it close, but they just cannot hit. They especially cannot hit with runners on.

I wouldn't count on the AL west slumping forever. Texas is getting scherzer back soon and Jung will be back before ASB. Seattle has a far superior rotation, and their offense will likely come around like it always does.
