Nvm…I can see that your kit came with actual holes to screw those braces into…mine came with just a slot/slider style so I can move those braces forward or backwards. Damn. I can see now that mine is an engineering fault.

Hey man. Maybe you can help me. The 2 vertical braces that attach the steering wheel stand to the base frame are extremely loose - no matter how much I tighten them. Did you have problems with this also? I’m not sure how to fix it yet.
@Boogiewoogie1414Күн бұрын
Little confused if you change the rotor you definitely have to remove the cable right? I guess working and changing's different but I mean we're just changing a rotor normally unless you try to bend it back which I'm not having a great time doing
@JoediyLab15 сағат бұрын
Yes, as the wire harness goes through the hub of the rotor and comes out of the motor. You normally do not have to charge the rotor unless it becomes warped or scored. You might be able to bend it back, but it would be hard.
@Boogiewoogie141414 сағат бұрын
@JoediyLab yeah mine seems to be slightly bent It's been a a nightmare. But I changed brakes all together and that seems to have helped as long as you don't keep the tire too far back in terms of the chain bolt it works great. I was struggling for months with my brakes grinding on my rotor and it was just because my chain wasn't tight enough but it's a fine line to tighten it too much where the chain grinds or it's loose where the brakes grind
@JoediyLab14 сағат бұрын
I doubt the rotor is heat treated, set the bike near a vice or anvil and see if you can flaten out the warpage.

I took my rotor off, routing the wires was hard but doable. Either buy a new rotor or see if you can straighten it out

Besides the runout on the original chuck, when I rotate the handle(s) to make the drill assembly go down, if you grab the chuck there is a lot of play there as well. The chuck mounts into the assembly that goes up and down, that assembly has way more play. How to fix that?
@JoediyLabАй бұрын
You may or may not be able to fix that. Take a look at the drill spindle, there may be bushings you can adjust or replace. Remember it is a cheap drill press not a milling machine.

Maybe ok for lighter springs/smaller cars, I've seen some Amazon reviews of them actually bending under load BUT the Sealey RE231(this is a copy of that) is far heavier built, been using one for years but its 3 times the price....For safety sake i'd go for the Sealey if going to do alot of work....Some springs require to be almost fully compressed, not sure I'd trust this tbh... spring injuries can be horrific.
@JoediyLabАй бұрын
It did my Vw and was very easy. The sliding rail and spring caps are very beefy. I do not see a problem.

@@JoediyLabtry a BMW 1 series front 😂 Your spring barely needed compressed to get the top mount on....As I said some springs need almost fully compressed, you'll even find you'll need to take the compressor apart to release the spring and shock assembly as they can trap themselves whey released. It varies greatly from car to car. Some are easy some not so easy especially springs with a taper.

@JoediyLabАй бұрын
Yes, when I changed the PCV valve. You have a vacuum leak around the front PCV plate, that faces towards the front of the car. The rubber gasket is leaking. I used the original screws from VW, the screws that came with the new PCV valve, were not flat enough.

I haven't hand packed a bearing in decades. I use a tool by KB Tools. It's a polycarbonate tub you load with grease. Take off the top. Drop the bearing on the shaft. Put the top back on and push down. Perfectly packed bearing. No mess. Nothing to clean up afterwards. I store it in a 1 gallon ziplock bag so it doesn't attract dirt.

If when you turn on the gas and the gas starts leaking, you have a stuck float in the carburetor. If you are up to it , you can fix it yourself. If not you will have to take the chipper to a small engine repair shop. If you want to try. Go to KZbin "Taryl Fixes All" He owens a small engine repair shop. Search his videos on leaky float. On his channel he plays a hilllbilly, but he is very smart and explains things in very simple terms. If you need help just ask.

Looks like the pump is messy and wasteful, as well as just as much work as the manual method, which doesn't require any clean up. By the time you set up the pump and dismantle it, then clean up all that extra grease, you'd have already done the second bearing. The only way that pump method would be worthwhile is if you have to do a good number of bearings. For example if you had ten or twenty bearings to do, the setup and cleanup would be worth the extra time. For only a set of two or four bearings, it may not be worthwhile. Thanks for the content. Keep up the good work. בס'ד
