To answer your questions in the video, there's a bit to discuss. So in a nut shell, Roth left Van Halen after toxic disagreements regarding where Eddie was taking the music with songs like Jump which Roth was strongly against. He believed Eddie shouldn't be playing the piano and the music sounded too soft. Roth secretly began practicing with his own band and one day was a no show for practice. Soon after Roth told Van Halen them he quit. Hagar joined the band after being put in touch by the mechanic that serviced both Hagar's Ferrari and Eddies Lamborghini. After 1 jam session Hagar was hired to replace Dave and the band went on to sell their first Platinum records ever. Dave's band was never as big or successful. Van Halen members and Roth had a lot of shit talking to each other after the split which never helped either. Official acknowledgement of Eddie using drugs came out much earlier. Different accountings stated that Valerie Bertinelli blamed Dave for being a bad influence on Eddie with regard to the party lifestyle. She later stated the drinking and drugs was what caused the end of their marriage. It was claimed Eddie was never the same when Roth was around doing the party rockstar lifestyle. According Eddie, the alcoholism and cigarettes started as a result of advice his Dad gave him about how his Dad combatted stage freight. He asked his Dad how he over came the fear, his Dad handed him a bottle and pack of cigarettes. Years after Hagar joined, their first producer Ted Templman died. Another producer who replaced Ted began getting in Eddies head, feeding his ego, turning him very toxic towards everyone. He fell out with all band mates except his brother. Before he died he did repair his relationship with everyone except Mike. Mike was heart broken he never got a chance to speak to Eddie before he died to repair the friendship. Van Halen's early "Brown Sound" was a mystery for the earlier years but was discovered and widely reproduced with the right equipment. Unknown outside of Van Halen, Eddies original Marshall Plexi Head had been rewired as per Eddie's specification. Eddie innovated the humbucker pickup being put into a Strat style body, wax-dipping the pickups, and many more inventions that made his sound. This of course was in Eddies homemade guitar. After being modified the Marshalls controls were all changed and the amp put out more distortion as well. He also used a voltage regulator called a Variac to change the power the amp received very early in the band's existance. This helped put the amp into super overdrive, creating greater control over distortion and volume, but ultimately shortened the life of the components. The tank story was complete fabrication, it never happened. There is soooo much more that can be discussed. If you want to watch a good documentary watch "Van Halen the Early Years" Its very accurate fot the band's beginnings.

He came out on stage at some award show that Rosie O’Donnell was hosting back in the late 90’s and she had no idea what she was in for! Joe C was riding around on the stage in a little clown car while Kid Rock was doing Bawitdabah….then he broke into a rendition of Grand Funk’s “We’re An American Band” but he changed the lyrics. Instead of “we’re coming to your town, we’ll help you party down.” he sang “we’re coming to your town, we’ll pull your panties down.” That performance was epic! Look it up!

Awhile ago like early 2000’s my husband and another couple were heading to the river boat in Cincinnati and KY. The closer we got to Cincy we picked up on a cincy radio station cans they were rocking kids song. The same song for 24 hours. Bawitdaba is the name of that song. Bad butt song. Take that to the bank from kid rock 57 year old bff grandma

@@andreadeamon6419 I’m glad we had the experience but sometimes they don’t even pull out onto the water. And the one we got on had soooo much coal smoke I got an instant headache. But my husband hit on 3 of the slot machines that were sitting on the corners. We were heading back to our room so I could lay down to get rid of the headache and he just dropped a quarter and bang. ❗️ jackpot. 500$, Got a voucher was walking to cash the voucher in and he has to drop another bam another 500$,jackpot. Swear to u. I said do him to meet me in our room because the headache was getting to that throw up part and by the time he got back to our room he had hit a 799.00 on another corner slot. I think the boat people were messing with him to make people around him pay attention to this character. Because he wasn’t shy at all and I think it was a weekday where ur not gonna hv a boat full of people anyway.

I must have been in 7th grade when I heard this album. My older cousin took me to the movies and had the cassette playing. I heard Dreams and didn't know why my mind was flipping out. This song blew my mind and changed my life. Around 8th grade I got a guitar and learned to play all because of 5150. I love this album more than life.

Glenn's Misfits definitely lean into the 50s rock n roll era, almost romantic done in a punk style, with horror lyrics. Just the best band with Danzig at the helm.

You should check out Scott stapps book. It is on audio as well. The rock star life is a hard one as we know dating all the way back. Even Elvis took drugs to wake up then to go to sleep. That is what caused hid death. Jimmy Page of Led Zepplin went after 13 yr old women Or girls. You will find this no matter what band you check out. I think several things effect these people of course drugs are the biggest part but the mixing of different drugs plays a big role. But again it has been proven throughout time invention and artistic creativity is enhanced by them as well.

at 15:30, that picture of Eddie, yeah he was going through a rough time then with drugs and cancer. Sammy talks about it a lot in his book, he said the first time he saw him for the reunion he had turned into the weirdest f he had ever seen, and couldn't believe it was the same guy as the old Eddie who was the sweetest guy in the world

David Lee Roths beef with Sammy Hagar started very early on actually DatWay. In the early days, david lee roth would make remarks about sammy hagar the solo artist. But they started to properly beef when sammy joined Van halen, as he would make remarks about dave in the press and dave would fire back once in a while. There is actually a tour that happened in the 2000s with dave and sammy together called the sam and dave tour, but it didnt take long before they butt heads again. And to answer your question about why they kicked mikey out, yeah. Eddie was an a hole to mikey, even though we still love eddie, yeah he was mean to mikey sometimes, even though eddie was still a really nice guy, he was complicated and a monster when drunk.. Eddie was irked by him for some reason

Growing up in the seventies and eighties without the internet had hidden most of the chaos from younger fans like me. I had to keep my eye open for magazine racks that would have articles on Van Halen, but the crazy and darker stuff was never mentioned back then on my level. When I first got access to the internet and looked up Van Halen, I knew they were wild but I was in shock at how crazy they were beyond MTV videos. Eddie was my hero so I was bummed to see that he had a dark side. But it didn't stop me from paying attention to the virtuoso that he was. Plus he did some good as well. Look up what he did for Jason Becker who has ALS. My brother died from ALS, so what Eddie did I was really special to me. Now in my later years, I like to think I learned to play the guitar from Eddie Van Halen. Just like many others, Eddie made me pick up the guitar for life and I like to keep the "smiling Eddie" in my memories. RIP Eddie.

The logo comes from a 1940’s movie serial which was like a tv series in movie theaters called The Crimson Ghost and The Skull guy is the Crimson Ghost, the Misfits saw it in a horror magazine that they read because they were big fans of horror and Sci fi movies which is why some of their songs are inspired by horror and sci movies from the 30’s -70’s
