It's 2024. I started this and got stuck immediately as no create project option after renaming original to KZbin as directed. Hoping there won't be a charge.

I realize that I'm probably in the minority on this one, but there isn't a single light switch in my home in a convenient place for a dashboard. If there was a spot in my house where I spent the majority of my time AND it had a double gang switch within arms reach, MAYBE I could use one but, alas, it's just not so.

I'm going to ask here for help out of desperation. I've spent 4 days trying to get automations to trigger from an Alexa routine and I'm stuck. I have Nabu Casa (paid) set up in both HA and Alexa and linked. Everything is exposed to Alexa. But here's the problem I can't figure out: For example, I made a simple automation that I named "Geode" For "WHEN" I have - When the sentence 'Begin Test' is said. For "THEN DO" I set it to toggle a light switch I selected from the device dropdown. I entered nothing for the optional "And If" If I click play in the automation, it works perfectly and the light toggles as it should. As soon as I save the automation, I even get a notification in Alexa that the new scene "Geode" was created, so I know it's exposed and communicating. Then I create a routine in Alexa that says: When you say "Alexa begin test"......... Alexa Will - Scene Geode Power: On In setting up the routine, I had no problem finding the scene "Geode" that HA created under Smarthome/scenes, so it was successfully created and sent to Alexa. When I say "Alexa, Begin Test" I get the acknowledgement tone from Alexa, but it doesn't toggle the light. Even stranger, when I go to the log in Home Assistant, it shows" "Amazon Alexa sent command Alexa.PowerController/TurnOn for Geode Automation: Turn on" Since it's in the log, I know it communicated. Even more strange, if I click Amazon Alexa in the logbook entry, a little window for the automation pops up, and if I click "Run Actions" it works and the light toggles. I don't know why when HA is getting the command from Alexa as shown in the log, the automation doesn't run, it only runs manually.

Viewing is almost always done via fire sticks, consoles, apps or external boxes like Virgin or Sky. However, if you've got Sky Glass, a camera-mounted system like this one could be a great alternative to sync boxes. Personally, after researching similar products, I find FancyLEDs to be the most reactive, and that's the level of accuracy I'm looking for. They also offer products that can sync via an app to enhance the ambiance in the room. I'd love to hear your opinion on this brand, in comparison to Govee

I started my smart home with Google and quickly figured out I needed more. I picked hubitat c8 and I love it. I have found work arounds for most things that are wifi only via virtual switch's linked to Google home. But I've been wanting aqara stuff for a long time! I look forward to that integration!

useless implementation, I’m experiencing issue after updating to iOS 18. Two of my Switchbot Hub 2 devices stopped working with HomeKit. I’ve tried resetting them from Keychain, ensuring only one Apple TV is active, restarting everything, but nothing seems to work. I can't add them to HomeKit via Matter. stupid bug homekit and switchbot

Brother, most Americans do not have neutral wires. That only applies to homes/buildings built from the late 80's and forward. The vast majority are much older. Love the work, and congrats on the new addition. Although, she did far more work than you did!!!

Don't feel so bad in the US we're having the neutral wire issue as well although not nearly as much. There's a lot of places where it made more sense to loop down to the switch and back to the light without the neutral. Generally bedrooms some kitchens and living rooms etc. so Code has actually been updated to start requiring the neutral. Now we just have to have various municipalities adopt newer versions and still have to deal with all the older houses that for whatever reason they decided to do it that way. I wear it at the laundry room where the switch was literally 5 feet away from the light fixture it didn't make sense to run a neutral but there are many other scenarios where it probably should've been there. Shoot we have the issue of ceiling lights getting installed without the appropriate extra wire for a fan control so stupid wireless remote control things get wired in as well as the wall switch making things really confusing.
