​@@amuroray9115 dunno why. Having read all of Herbert's novels, this is still the more faithful. The current adaptation sacrificed much, all so it can have flashy fight scenes with Jason Mamoa. The only fully proper adaptation, is the Sci Fi miniseries.

This version cut more content than the new one because it was crammed into one film. Paul is treated more of a hero in this one which isn’t like the books Jason Mamoa doesn’t even have that much screen time either

@@amuroray9115 except it didn't cut more. It shows more of the political intrigue and plot, than either Denis version. Denis couldn't even be bothered to give Thufir more screen time than none at all. Jason doesn't have much screen time sure, but time was made to give him a cool extended scene to fight Saurdukar, which was never in the books, while removing much of the politics and the Baron and his plans within plans, to make time for it. Paul was treated as a hero in the original novel. You tell on yourself, as not having read the books, by repeating this 'Paul is treated more of a hero' nonsense. He was always the hero of the first novel. Messiah and onward, were meant to be a subversion or as Frank likened it to, a Fugue. The point was that deferring oneself to a great, charismatic leader, without question, can lead to horrors that even the leader himself abhors. Paul doesn't gleefully compare himself to Hitler, he compares himself unfavorably.

Are you sure? Could have sworn this movie also added unnecessary details that weren’t from the book. Did it rain on Arrakis? What about the modules? Maybe my memory isn’t good I did see a lot of political intrigue in Denis when it comes to the Harkonnen, Bene Gesserit, Etc

He's saying that they can never escape his visage, whenever they look into the abyss, they will see him. (In the literal sense, he means that they have nowhere to escape and can do nothing)

Agreed. This actor may be too old, but he really sells it. He has a presence charlamagne doesn't have. In fact, I find this scene to be better than the new version. But I didn't read the books, so I don't know which is more accurate.

It's good acting. She does it because he's so powerfully in her mind. It makes her physically cringe. Maybe pain as well. I'm sure she's never experienced anything like it till now.
