Is there an age limit in order to be an aupair?
@Kaylarenee75
@Kaylarenee75 Ай бұрын
Hm.. not that I know of!! However, I would say that "Aupairs" tend to be at the age of a youth travel visa in most cases. So usually under 25-ish. But I depending on the host family I guess it would be up to them!

I agree with you. Baby was sick from formula. I have breastfed 6 of my 7 kids, and they sleep much better and are healthier on breastmilk. I became vegan after baby #5. I take care of my own kids and do not use babysitters. I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. It sounds like most people have. One day, you will start your own family. It is such a blessing to have babies, be a stay at home mom, and raise them. My husband and I are incredibly close to our children as well as family focused. I would never hire someone to do my job. It is a sacred duty that I enjoy.

Thank you very useful! Good to see so much plant based food too! What is the expat community like & how is getting to the beach ?

I only spoke to a few expats... one British man that lived in Durres. There are lot's of Italian and Greek people- so many languages all around! To reach the beach it would be very simple by car, 15-20 minutes. It was also very easy for me via taxi! (I can't remember the cost exactly- but very reasonable). Taxi took 20-25 min to reach the Durres Ferry terminal from Tirana.

Wherever you go it always comes down to having a comfortable and quiet place to live. You always have to have a place to retreat to and with airbnb you are stuck in monthly contracts no matter what you get so it can be stressful, and that stress can snowball. In cities it is worth it to get a hotel for a few days and have a look around at Airbnbs if they let you first. Truth is nomad living isnt as great as its made out to be until you have been around a lot first and know where you will be happy to go take a break from it all for a while if things get rough.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Vacuuming and deep cleaning were definitely beyond your job. The hosting parents had to pay you the rate of being an au pair/cleaner/cook and late night talk mate. Some parts of your experience sound very different from what normal households would operate. I wish I could find an awesome au pair like you if I have a baby and build a respectful relationship.

I’m definitely not being AU pair and Europeans are very snobby and obnoxious people I dealt with something slightly similar but to an old lady I was sharing a room with. Very crazy, mentally ill and intrusive woman

That is so weird that you mentioned the kitchen story because my current American host mom is the same exact way every time I am in the kitchen. She will get weird with me and it gives me the feeling that I am not allowed to be in there. According to my contract the kitchen is a communal space so idk what that is all about.

Good day. My wife and I, also 🇨🇦, are visiting Albania for 3 months this summer. Would you suggest Airbnb or short-term rental? Thank you.
@Kaylarenee75

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with short term rentals in Albania... but my experience of 6 months using AirBnb's in Tirana was fabulous! I would personally go the AirBnb route again if I go back!

Oh my, look at all that snow! We've had it a couple of times in my 60+ years in north Florida but it usually doesn't stick. I've been to Canada a couple of times for just a brief period. We've walked across at Niagara Falls, driven across near Detroit, went to the International Gardens along the border somewhere out West and then I went with a friend to Vancouver Island for a few days many years ago. The World in a whole is pretty much in a big mess. The high up leadership in North America sucks! Hopefully that will be resolved soon and we can go back to living a more affordable life. Hope your move goes smoothly!

It was SO lovely! Coming from Canada... it could not have been better for us:) Each day was around 10-15 degrees celsius, and almost always sunny. The locals would be wearing full sweatsuits and winter jackets, but I would have been far too warm in that! We found that the end of January/February were our coldest months in Tirana.
