@28:30 ... "now it has a graphical interface" ... I started using Linux in the mid 1990's. It had a graphical interface then, FVWM. Been using it almost daily since then at home and at work. I'm now 20 years retired, just starting to learn JMRI. xFig was the killer app that caused me to switch from MS Word and Windows 3.1. My daughter built her own computer and installed Linux on it when she went to college a long time ago. FVWM is still around, so is xFig. You should not have any trouble using Linux.

Isn't that the way it always goes? I've only had to run my blower van once this winter and unfortunately it's hard to test out snow equipment if you don't have snow. We haven't had much snow up here in Sask, Canada this year, but the big snow storm we had last month gave me 3 plus feet of snow and drifts to play in. Now it's April and I don't mind the green grass...lol. Great video and we'll see you in the next one.

Tell me about it! Got it back on though just in time for a 40" storm a few days after this was filmed. All gone now though 5 days later.

I see you have a deflector control, what do you use? I have been thinking of adding one to my jd54 for years now but don't want to buy something that won't hold up to Maine winters. Thanks

I'll get you the name off of it. I came with the blower when I got it so I don't know off the top of my head. I have it wired to a rocker switch in the right side console

I think I hear lots of rocks being launched into the yards. I raised mine up about an inch and had far less rocks to pick out of the grass in the spring.

There is. It's up about as high as it can go right now but we've had such a warm winter that the gravel driveway has yet to freeze, so lots of rocks abound unfortunately.

Do you miss not having your loader for other tasks? That’s the only thing holding me back from a front mount blower because I find myself using my forks ALL the time to unload and move stuff throughout the winter.
@minutemanmac
@minutemanmac 8 ай бұрын
Not at all. I only needed the loader in the winter to knock down the banks, which the loader made. With the blower shooting it out it is not needed. To put the loader back on from the front blower incase I want to use my forks, or the bucket it takes about 20min to take the blower off and get the loader back on.

Thanks for the video! Not many informational videos about the 2025R. So your rear 2 1/2 inch wheel spacers work with your mower deck? I have seen other videos where people are using less than 2 inch spacers to be compatible.
@minutemanmac
@minutemanmac 8 ай бұрын
John, exactly why, I trying to get more videos out there as I had found there aren't many. Yes the 2.5" work fine with my deck, I have the 54D, and no issues. Ian

I just put 4 inch spacers on the back today and with a lot of undulating hills and it's nice but I also removed my mower deck to stay off and noticed that same bent part I guess it was because I had the loader arm still on and forgot to raise it up enough lol

Yeah that arm will get you every time if you don't raise it enough! I bent mine back with some vice grips and it's all good now!

How u didn’t rip that off the side of the house is beyond me! 😬 I just found your channel, and I, like yourself, traded my 1025r in for a 2025r. I love it but wish I had gone to 2032 at a minimum. Most of the work I completed with my 1025r so now I don’t use the 2025r as much. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Glad to see you putting yours to great use!

Luckily the elbow was the weak point! 😆 I'm loving my 2025R. I was looking for a 2038R but I only wanted one machine for mowing and the 2038R turned out to be a tad too big for the trees along my front yard wall. The 2025R is definitely getting a work out though and now it's in snow mode!

Seems I also talk with you on FB Guy M. My neighbor mechanic installed the Summit mount on the bucket mast and it seemed ok till I put the Curtis cab on (1025r) and the problem was with the hoses. I had given him a plate to make the mount like yours and Tom's, so I ended up doing that part myself. Still have to get some of the hoses he didn't use as two loop over the top hit and close the windshield, need to loop them under the diverter. And for anyone reading this the plate size is 7.5" by 5" . Thanks for the follow up video.

Been meaning to get one out for ya but things have been pretty hectic at work. I'm going to change up the hoses getting 2 of the original JD hoses recrimped as the kit hoses just aren't the best. They get all tangled and are stiff when I take the loader off. Supposed to be nice out tomorrow, sonl maybe I'll try and shoot it

Had the Advantage Cab installed on my 2025R this past week ... For the money, I'm disappointed. For starters, the doors while metal are not rigid; they flex when opened/closed and do not fit as tight as they should when closed. Thicker sheet metal and/or strategically placed reinforcements should have been included in the design. The door windows are one-piece; they do not have a pane that slides open as did the less-expensive Curtis cabs on my Deere X758 and X585. The doors do not have pneumatic pistons to hold them open, as did the less-expensive Curtis cabs on my Deere X758 and X585. The amount of glass used to provide visibility from inside the cab is unacceptable; I'm constantly struggling to see things around the outside of the tractor while in-use and have been forced into guess-ti-mates based on what I am able to see. There are a couple of other annoyances but I must say, if I had to do it over again, I would not purchase the Advantage cab.

Good to know Richard. I was not aware of how light duty those doors were. I had been looking at building my own as I know the mid range doors I would just beat to crap and rip the vinal real quick for the price.

I'm about to install the Summit Diverter kit on my 2023 1025r also, and have seen and talked online (FB) with a guy who also made that same mounting plate, What I was hoping to see in your video was how you connected the hoses to the SP?
@minutemanmac
@minutemanmac Жыл бұрын
I'll get some video of it for you and post it this week. How I have it is not finalized, it works but I'd like to make it neater and will most likely recrimp two of the Parker hoses from the SP so that it has the 90 degree JST fittings that go to the valve body as the Summit hoses are just so stiff.
