Tae kwon do is pretty much like karate, but mostly kicks. Karate use both punches & kicks. I would say both blocks technic are similar. My late brother practiced karate he asked to kick or punch him. I chose to kick then he blocked my kick with karate block technic which is similar tae kwon do block technic. Tae kwon do is korean karate

I'm a purple/black in Karate and 1st degree black belt in Taekwondo. I say that both have their advantages and disadvantages depensing on the situation. Use Karate as a more defensive style for close in quarters and use Taekwondo for a more of a mix of offensive & defensive style as the the greater use of kicks makes it useful for longer distances!!!

Many karate "masters" use drugs to "get better". Shouting is noisy and considered demonic to real martial artists.

My first martial art ever was taekwondo (WT). I did it for like 2 years from like age 6-8 but then quit because the school was kinda trash. A few years later I wanted to get back into martial arts, but at that age I wasn't really aware of the differences between different martial arts, so I did karate for 7 years. Now I'm looking to get back into taekwondo but ITF. Both are amazing but since I've always prefered kicks, taekwondo is better for me :D

Just to remind you that BJJ ain’t nothing compare to Kosen Judo that’s for sure as Kosen Judo is the original grappling art not BJJ which is good but more of a copycat of Kosen Judo

TKDs roots are actually in Shotokan. then Taekyon got added to it. the original forms were all the same Shotokan forms. then the leader of South Korea got involved and made them adapt Korean terms and names and remake all the forms to give it a Korean identity . the 9 original Kwans all adapted one name , one set of forms and one ranking system. those who did not want to do that were shunned and not recognized. and they came here. only to eventually give in to get recognition , but not before teaching some people like Alex Simkins who kept Chun Do Kwan original. and Kang Duk Won which is still original. and back them when I was younger TKD was called Korean Karate.

Yup and a more karate style was also born, Tang soo do which had of course Shotokan as its base, taekwondo, Taekyeon, Chinese kung fu, kickboxing, and a lot of bits from other martial arts, like judo and I’m not super sure but maybe wrestling? Tang soo do is super flexible but that’s also its weakness. But Chuck Norris did well.

It highlights how these individuals, through illegal activities, managed to amass significant fortunes, often leading to their eventual downfall. The content likely includes profiles of infamous figures, detailing their criminal enterprises and the financial gains they achieved. Well the whole problem for me starts with fact, that they are called "arts". That's how they are thought... If I want art, gonna paint a picture or make a statue or write a poem or play an instrument. I would like to learn to fight. Real fight. MMA is going that direction, but eventually rather KravMaga for soldiers or something similar...
@sportdy-n3l
@sportdy-n3l 2 ай бұрын
I totally get your point, and there’s definitely a distinction between martial arts as a sport practiced for competition or self-defense and real combat training that focuses on simplicity and effectiveness in real-life scenarios. Krav Maga is a great example since it emphasizes practical techniques for critical situations. That said, arts like MMA can be a great starting point to build physical strength and diverse fighting skills before moving on to more specialized methods.

@@thisis_mudchute I totally agree! Sports can be stressful at times, but that’s part of the challenge that makes it a rich and unique experience. It teaches us patience, helps build mental resilience, and makes us stronger both physically and mentally.

@ it's not just 'at times', it's every single second of it that's normally in the freezing cold making you more sick than you already were with no option to do something else. there's no good side of sports
@sportdy-n3l
@sportdy-n3l 2 ай бұрын
@@thisis_mudchute I totally understand how you feel; sports can be tough, especially in harsh conditions like freezing weather or when you're not feeling your best. However, sometimes those challenges are what help us build resilience and discover our own strength. Maybe there's a different type of sport or physical activity that might suit you better and even be more enjoyable.
