Just like Lady Di, Marion was obnoxious and self-absorbed. Marion's redeeming grace was that she had enough intelligence, dignity, and gumption to maintain a career and live some kind of decent life. She had a husband and no kids, so they had that DINK thing going on. Honestly, that's probably why Marion was the more caustic of the two, because she had that "Fuck you! I don't need this shit!" mentality you get once you achieve any kind of station in life. Lady Di was completely destitute materially and spiritually and had nothing but the show. That's why she tried to act so much friendlier than Marion and was willing to go along with whatever they wanted, because they were the only ones that were going to give her any sort of value, any sort of remission from her own terrible existence. It was either them or nothing.
