Looks like you had a good crew and good conditions for the training, always nice to see your videos of the clubs activities and you make rolling look so easy.

Looks like you all had a great paddle... and a feed of yabbies too! I loved paddling Chowilla during flood... such a different way to see it 😊

Outdoor rec TAFE trip or outdoor ed school trip? I reckon I did that same loop (lock 4, up to Eckerts, down Kat, back to lock4) for the first time (and in a touring boat) back when I was in year 11, lol. Still a really beautiful paddle no matter who you do it with!

Was a club trip with Adelaide Canoe Club (adelaidecanoeclub.org.au). They have put a new regulator in, and there is now a lot more water in the creeks. Hope to go up again later this year if they have another artifical flooding event

That looks so great, what fun! It is good to watch, to get a sense of how these experienced ones use their paddles so precisely to make control of the kayak, thanks for the video!

I'm flattered you think I'm experienced, a lot of my paddle strokes were just desperate attempts to stay upright 🙂

@@MyCharliew Well that just makes me feel more enthusiastic! I want to do that surfing thing and you seemed very successful at staying upright! Whatever works! From Treya

Hi charles . How many km per day do you guys paddle . I enjoy the extra carry capacity of my mad river canadian canoe although its a little heavy .
@MyCharliew
@MyCharliew 3 жыл бұрын
We generally don't do more than 20 to 25 kms on a full days paddle. Not to strenuous if youhave lots of stops. Had a guy bring a canoe once, went ok but he had so much room he took too much stuff, ended up being very heavy and hard to paddle

@@MyCharliew thanks charles for your reply . 👍 i have been overnight camping many times as a backpacker . I dont bring stuff i dont need . I do have plenty of room . But only bring light weight essentials. Im looking for other paddlers like your selfs, to paddle with. If you are planning any more trips up the murray in the future let me know . I am a photographer who loves the river and its wild life . And been paddling 45 years . My mates idea of a paddle is about a km before they turn around . Thanks again. 🐢

@@turtlepurple9304 our trips are all Adelaide Canoe Club trips so you would have to join the club, website here: adelaide.paddle.org.au/ and Facebook page here: facebook.com/adelaidecanoeclub. In summer it is more sea paddling, but as the weather cools down there should be more river trips, keep an eye on the events calendar. If you have any trips you would like to do they are always looking for more people to organise and run trips.... @@MyCharliew cheers mate , i was wondering about the club , they seemed so kayak oriented i have hesitated so far. I am planning to get a sea kayak soon but the Canadian allows me to take my luxury items when im shooting wildlife on the river . Thanks for the links and the info . 😀

@@turtlepurple9304 No problem. They are very kayak orientated, but there are a few canoes around, I also think we have some canoe instructors. Also have a lot of retired pensioners in the club, so not all trips are strenuous. Keep an eye on the calendar. Charlie

No I am in a Tempest 170, bit of a handful in the surf. Have not heard of a Zepher before, just googled it, looks like a nice boat.
