Where did this flight come from?

I first landed there on the 9th January 1959 when it was called Palisadoes Airport and last left it in August 1962. While I was at school there they were filming the first Bond film Dr. No.

Taking off is optional, but landing is compulsory.

No such thing as "final approach." From the moment you take off, you are on approach to your destination.... In this case, the flight began its approach Appx 1,600 miles away from JFK to KIN.

@@hx3500 He is correct. Former Air Jamaica flight attendant here. That is why it is called final approach. It is the immediate period of time when the runway is in sight and the aircraft is lined up for landing. When coming into Kingston, descent usually starts 30 mins before landing and the last 15 mins usually starts somewhere crossing over the north coast taking route over the Cockpit Country, Spanish Town, Caymans and finally the Kingston Harbour. Those last couple of mins esp. over the harbour is considered final approach.
