If you thought combining great taste and less filling was impressive, just wait until you see what happens when you combine baseball and bass fishing! In this 1994 ad for Miller Lite, a group of buddies are arguing about whether to watch baseball or bass fishing on TV. They can't come to a consensus, so one of the guys solves the problem by whacking the TV with a Miller Lite bottle. The TV suddenly shows "Professional Bassball," a sport that combines elements of the two activities. Players hit a flying fish with a bat, while fielders use nets that look like baseball gloves. The announcer says that if you can combine great taste and less filling, you can combine anything. Well, I guess that's true!👍

First time I’ve found an analog shutdown from Indiana

Actually, this promo montage is from 1989, not 1988. There are a lot of great shows featured here, including "This Old House," "The Frugal Gourmet," "Nature," and more.👍

There are so many great how-to programs returning to KERA 13 this fall. “Hometime” is back for its fourth season, so you can learn more home repair tips from JoAnne Liebeler and Dean Johnson. There will be even more great do-it-yourself ideas in season 11 of “This Old House,” hosted by Steve Thomas. If you’ve watched any other season of “This Old House,” then you know Steve’s sidekick Norm Abram will be there too. I was born that year

Netflix brought me here. Great commercial, but fuck Pepsi for not giving the guy his Harriet jet.

I was part of the advertising team that produced this commercial for our client, Alberto Culver. All three network television censor groups rejected the commercial storyboards out of the gate. We had to revise them multiple times until they were approved to produce. Then, they had to approve the roughcut before moving to final edit, then approve again before it was able to air. In the end, only two of the three networks gave approval. (There was no substantial cable television then). The reason for this skittishness? Showing women's underwear in conjunction with a product that was to be used "there" was deemed "too suggestive" for prime time television. Yep, it was really like that.
