The world is a much better place since they invented the router!! I like your work, edging and other things but I'm planning to make a few tables for a board/card game area in a venue, so I'm currently collecting the best ideas from the hundreds of tables already on KZbin! Thanks for having a video.

The definition of a dark age is an age with little or no writing. It has noting to do with modern science and technology. If that was the case then 99% of human history would be considered a dark age.

The "At rise' section is wonky and incorrect. Three lines begin at different tabs.

It would have been useful to show the title page and cast of characters (dramatis personae). That is the standard. Here, you have combined the title page with the actual play. ☹

Great table but I would take more care with the electrical. Especially the connections and mounting.

First, a thank you for posting this, but as an Australian, it has led me to some confusion. This playwrite format seems to be American, and I have a number of scripts in this format, but I have been told that Australia has a completely different playwrite format, where the Character name is page left, with the dialogue commencing a tab or two from the name. (font is not mentioned.) This is the way I have been writing and have been getting conflicting comments from numerous groups over the years. I also have many scripts written in this format, which is very like old radio script format, which I also write. Also we use A4 paper, not Letter.

So pretty much the same exact format for screenplay writing. Easy enough!

I'd suggest using a hole saw for the cupholders - it's far more precise than drilling holes and using a jigsaw, also where a router really isn't the best tool for that job.

Thanks for putting up this series of videos Ian. I realize this has been up for a number of years but I just found it and was working my way through until I realized I have no cue list button on the first screen of my hog4 software. I don't suppose you know how to add it? I have palettes, master, kinds, output programmer, and commands buttons, but no cuelist. Thanks.

So, something I've been struggling with is how to convey emotion without the character on stage flat out saying what they're feeling. It's different in movies and books obviously because you can introduce a lot more subtleties like facial expression and metaphor and inner monologue and all that stuff, but I feel like on stage all that stuff is kind of out the window. Obviously most people aren't going to be able to analyze your facial expression from the audience. They might see big, exaggerated facial expressions but, yeah.. And of course inner monologue won't work, unless you're play happens to have a narrator... metaphor /simile definitely can't work... since both are generally used to describe what a character is feeling without actual need for on -the-nose statements or dialogue… Something like *the city pissed rain* , Or Hemmingway's famous "hills like white elephants" ... Any suggestions for how to convey emotion, specifically an emotion like depression., on stage...?
@me_yessik2 жыл бұрын
@@RTHSIanFinley Woah, that actually was really helpful, thank you. It's funny that I used the "hills like white elephants" example of my own accord without even thinking about the fact that entire story is doing exactly that--talking around the emotion rather than addressing it head on. Thank you. I might actually have to revisit that story just to give myself some ideas.
