I listened to this on Spotify and had to rewatch on KZbin. Brilliant podcast.

Great episode Mark thanks. I am a huge fan of the way Adam teaches the golf swing. His YT channel is a goldmine. Almost in your league 🙂

Adam's KZbin channel has done so much to transform my golf swing. I've gone down the YT golf instruction rabbit hole like many here, but the way he explains the swing on his channel simply "clicked".

Wow incredible stuff Mark! Agree find the target , visualize it. Focus back on target. Can you bring your brother on? Talk about his mindset when he won the masters. I know Ben Crenshaw shows him you can make the same putt with 3 speeds

Agreed that you can never stand too close to the ball. Amateurs stand much farther away from the ball than pros. I was never able to take a divot. Recently I tweaked my setup and posture and started standing closer to the ball. Without any new swing thoughts I started making contact with the ground. Also, standing closer to the ball will make it harder to early extend because your brain knows that you need as much space as possible to not shank the ball.

So basically this is golf Theory not application? I'm a pretty high level golfer and very little of this even made sense to me. I don't understand the purpose of these exercises unless it's just a confuse people. The way I understand Concepts and technique and mechanics is the instructor is to take these things in very deeply and digest them and polish them so that the information they give out is concise and practical and actionable and simple. All I hear is a lot of words and a lot of Concepts in a lot of theories that don't simplify anything. If anything it's more complicated after I listen to this person.

The "freezer drill" is the most misunderstood drill ever, it has NOTHING to do with sequencing - its true genius is training the player how to keep the shoulder in its socket - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKTXl3Vuh56brdEsi=eykT682Va3vmwzxi&t=184 - freeze all you want at the top if you don't know the essence of it, its as good as learning kung fu from watching jacky chan movies.
@EE051149684 күн бұрын
Is the pause exaggerated for the drill? Or is it his real swing?

HIs full swing is pretty close to this version.

What’s helped me is mastering grip, setup, alignment and ball position and I don’t think about much else. If my swing is off, I’m usually either not using the ground to load my lower body properly or my transition is way too rushed. So, I come back to my rhythm/tempo and feel that my transition takes a couple seconds. I don’t try to leave my hands behind me and rotate. I simply feel a mini Hideki pause before allowing my hands to travel down towards the ball.

Nice. Simplicity is akways good.

@brianschultz73202 күн бұрын
@@russellnichols1735 I’m new to game and don’t strictly track my handicap. However, going through my scorecards over the last few months, I am around a 16-17 right now. I’ve been playing for a year and I love the game. Average score of 90ish but shot an 84 2 weeks ago. Hopefully I can consistently break 85 moving forward.

Porzak changed my game in less time with his youtube, then so called teaching pro's i have talked and taken lessons to in years... I would suggest, ask them (who wants to teach you) to hit balls infront of you and tell you how the golf swing works. If they can't or don't want to go to someone who does... Shitty teaching ruins the game and makes folks drop the game... lets do better with instruction...

I love this podcast and have learned a lot. This one was particularly helpful-thank you. I am a 55 y/o in decent shape who took 40 lessons last year through a major company (won’t name them, but they say they’ll improve your game by 7 strokes). My game is worse, and it’s now a struggle to get under 100. I love this game, but it’s getting more frustrating the more I try to learn and practice.

Hey Mark, I came across your podcast a few weeks ago and I loved what you mentioned in the post you shared on the 27th of August - “Unstuck Yourself” & Unlock Your Full Potential with Paul Salter. The title alone caught my eye quickly. I feel I’d be able to provide solid value for your listeners. As both a Developmental Services Worker and a Mental Health & Addictions Professional before receiving certification as a Life Coach and Hypnotherapist I’ve seen countless clients fall victim to the to understand that to be “stuck is more feeling than fact. And that letting this feeling stick falls into the emotional connection to creating limiting beliefs through repeating thoughts until they are self-beliefs. There is power in learning self-love, connecting with ourselves, and the strength of the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and actions. I feel I’d be able to provide some real insights to your listeners. Would you be open to having a call to see whether it would make sense to be a guest on your podcast? Heather Russell

Great video Mark and Kiran. Been doing some of these more for squash, which I play 5-6 days a week, but never do a proper golf warmup, but this has galvanized me to start for my 5 rounds a week play, where I've done the normal 90 second stretch before hitting balls! 69 year young still trying to gain some speed!
