Someone please tell me this is a joke! This is as sad to watch as those No Touch Knock Outs! If someone were actually teaching this the same way as on here, then they are a disgrace to martial arts and give Aikido a bad name.

@@aikidolyss bonjour oui bien sur je vous écrirais . ...... il pique en dècalant, en dirait le kata c'est le contraire, du coup il peu plus ouvrir la hanche pour aspirè ou ne le fait pas en attente d'une attaque et du coup frappe le Bo de M. Urs = intention de contrer et attaquer, quand on recherche on est souvant dans l'intention de faire c'est pas facile, la preuve. j'y suis pas encore loin de là....un jour peu etre.

Excelente Maestro Michio Hikitusuchi Sensei. Nuestra escuela es de Kumano Juku y sigue sus enseñanzas. Mi Maestro Charly Díez Ortiz (5º Dan) estuvo 7 años junto a Hikitsuchi en los años 80 estudiando de él, y es gracias a él que hoy en día seguimos enseñando el Aikido de Kumano Juku. Estamos en España, en Elche (Alicante). Nuestra web es: @t . Actualmente también estudio de mi otro Maestro Diego Espinosa Sensei (6ºDan) con quién llevo 11 años estudiando de él. Effective towards which goal? Which purpose? All martial arts has their own purpose and context. Don't be so quick to judge what you do not understand. Don't judge the screwdriver on it's ability to hammer a nail, nor the hammer on it's ability to screw in a screw.

What is the point of aikido. It is not an effective way to protect yourself. So why learn it? I am not being negative, I really don't get it.

The point is to have defensive moves initiated to your opponent. How? Spiritual enlightenment shits if you're interested. It will not work with other martial arts practically, only theoretically. So it works best for street fights or street crimes.

JeremyEM1 why do you say hurt people. I am talking about defending yourself. Using the hurt people thing is just to make me sound like a Neanderthal. I don't want to hurt people. I just want to defend myself against those who want to hurt me. I also Insist on honesty. It is not honest to get students based on a promise of self defense skills. Again I ask, why present aikido as a martial art when it is useless as such. Why tell students they are being taught to defend themselves when they are not. If aikido is a spritual quest then fine present it as such. Don't say it's a self defense system that can defend against knife attacks etc if it is only a spiritual pursuit. Watching the training is like watching a cult praying and using a physical skill to determine the top guy. The problem is that that skill is useful only against others practicing the cult. Anyone who really needs to be defended against like an aggressive outsider will easily prevail. Very bizarre.
