What an interesting episode! I could relate to so much of it, particularly the part about being sandwiched between an elderly mum and a teenage daughter and change whilst going through menopause and hitting 50! I will definitely consider a menopause ceremony when I am out of this 'messy middle'. But I am working with Jess to hold a Living Wake for my elderly mum, who has dementia and we want to celebrate her life now. Definitely going to tune in for more menopause episodes. Thank you, Natalie

I’m finding that I have uncontrollable anger and sometimes are shaking with rage. On one hand it’s directed towards people doing the wrong thing. My husband accidentally broke a glass of iced coffee all over the couch. I instantly flew into an uncontrollable rage, I was shaking, luckily my husband noticed what was happening.

Sending you so much love ❤️…. Sometimes it’s helpful you understand that the habit is often a coping mechanism for something underneath. When we fully understand the ‘what’s underneath’ we can have so much compassion for ourselves. ❤

I am 43 - my nervous system feels totally dysregulated. I am experiencing anxiety. Shortness of breath, fatigue, low self esteem, crying all the time, body pain all over, back pain, irregular periods. I don’t know my mind anymore or who I am, it’s like all my coping skills have broken., prior I was really fit, just finished yoga teacher training, always positive etc. I experienced child hood trauma… In Fact I didn’t have a happy childhood at all, I didn’t even realise this until recently until I started therapy. I also started my family at 16 years old. One unhealthy relationship after another… I have been doing so much work around this over the years In therapy, self awareness, development etc. I feel so isolated now… I can only describe it as, I know something needs to change drastically within me. I guess this is time! Focusing on myself. Who am I? What do I want now? What makes me happy! I feel very scared. It’s a massive transition/transformation. So much grief, anger, shedding is happening or at least I hope that’s what is happening- or I am worried I will end up in a psychiatric ward! Thank you ❤️

@sallygarozzo have you heard of any research on childhood traumas and ACES to start perimenopause early? I'm only 33, I have had symptoms for 2 years and I'm now getting looked at.. I have been looking everywhere on information and a young women tribe who have had the feeling of having your youth taken away. I'm at an age where most people are starting and now I'm over and have got a few eggs left in the basket. Could you point me in the right direction of your no of anything please 😢.

I have been in treatment for year's for my PTSD and I was doing really well. I had a few hot flashes & heavier periods but no other perimenopause symptoms. I quit smoking and both my PTSD and perimenopause hit me like a ton of bricks. I don know if it's the MAOI withdrawal contained in tobacco or perimenopause. But I feel straight crazy. Hyper vigilant, rage response, not sleeping or sleeping too much and hot flashes many times a day, hair loss, vaginal dryness. The worst period and cramps of my life. I don't know what to do? My therapist knows. I'm asking my doctor today for either HRT or a mood stabilizer and xanax. I'm not functioning well and it's three weeks into my quit. Is it tobacco, menopause, my PTSD or a perfect storm of the three?
@sallygarozzo
@sallygarozzo Жыл бұрын
Hi Natalie - so sorry that you're experiencing all of this. It must be very difficult for you. I would imagine that quitting tobacco has enabled all the inner stuff to come to the surface. This can often happen when we quit anything that helps us deal with life. It can feel extremely difficult to cope with all of this especially living in a system that only rewards feeling good. HRT would definitely be a good port of call as it has other health benefits too. It sounds like you're in good hands with your therapist.

So happy to find this video. Thought that EyE’m going insane. Had such a horrible outburst almost to the point of violence on yesterday. Stranger in a supermarket was rude. Normally, EyE’m the type to ignore it. Yesterday, totally out of control. The past two months, my anger has been towards my husbands. EyE love and hate him at the same time. Issues from over thirty years ago have resurfaced. Things that EyE didn’t say are needing expressed and very nastily. Before EyE’m able to stop the words, they are out and LOUD. EyE feel so out of control to the point of anxiety. EyE’m in fear of hurting someone. Tried several times to visit a gynecologist, but they’re not returning my MD’s request to examine mi. Using COVID as an excuse. EyE’m so lost right now.

I’m now 52 years old with bi-lateral frozen shoulder. Started during my final year of peri menopause. I saw countless doctors, PT’s, massage therapist. No one mentioned menopause or loss of estrogen. I can look back over the last two years and see that as I was losing my hormones I was falling apart. I've learned a lot about estrogen and how it protects our joints. So many women struggle with pain daily in menopause. I had to do all my own research and digging to figure out that my issues were hormone related. It made me a little angry honestly. I realized that women in this time of life are dismissed too easily. We are expected to soldier on through. Frozen shoulder is a long process. If you’ve come across this video know that you are not alone.

@@tashabrown8301 so sorry you are experiencing this. It's not a fun process. Once you can, movement is your friend. If you are in the early stages I know the pain is awful and movement is the last thing you want to do. The pain will subside and your arm(s) will thaw. If you can, find a good PT to help you move them when you are ready. Best wishes.

Diet is a good place to start, but equally you should press your GP or go and see a different one. Ask for a menopause sympathetic GP. Body Identical HRT is fantastic if you are able to take it. Give this to you doctor to read. Ultimately, it's your choice to go on HRT, not theirs: d2931px9t312xa.cloudfront.net/menopausedoctor/files/information/229/Easy%20HRT%20prescribing%20guide.pdf

This is real. I'm experiencing so much anger due to the irresponsibility and self-centeredness of another person having major negative impacts on my children's and my own life financially and emotionally--an utter lack of support from their father. Absenteeism, abandonment, and shirking of legal responsibilities in the way of child support for 15 solid years. This is what has made me angry morning, noon, and night during menopause. No counselor I've seen has been able to help me process anger effectively. I'm hopeful HRT will help some.
@sallygarozzo
@sallygarozzo 9 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Has HRT helped? It's so helpful when we can share our stories, helping others to feel less alone. Anger is wild just like grief and sorrow. Anger needs that sympathetic nervous system state to be activated to help you move through it. Maybe have a look at Rapid Transformational Therapy or some kind of somatic work. Sending you love.

For me I run out of breath when I speak. I suppose because of tension, allowing my thoughts to take over. Singing can attribute to more tension, I am not a singer, so... Hey Shweta - sorry for the delay. NLP is a more broader field of study that encompasses many different modalities and ways to talk to the sub conscious. RTT is a specific process that is done under hypnosis. I trained in NLP about 20 years ago which gave me a good basis for my RTT. Happy to have a conversation with you if you'd like.

Hi Sally, I came across your channel during my research regarding training to becoming an RTT therapist with Marisa Peer’s and came across a review on KZbin by one of your previous clients. I am very interested in enrolling on the RTT course and would very much love to do the course. I have had a conversation with a member of the Marisa’s application team. As I initially mentioned I am doing my own research before committing myself and have a few questions I would like to ask. 🙏🏿 1. Would you recommend the course? 2. How easy was it to get clients once you had qualified and did you get good support from your mentor/ team? Or did you have to do other things for yourself to get clients. 3. What insurance is needed to practice once you are qualified? I would really appreciate some feedback. I must say I found your channel very interesting especially around the Menopause! So with that I have subscribed. Thank you Daphne Sobers
