Such a shame M$ did not do anything with this great mod since they took over Minecraft from Mojang. They cuold have given it new life with little resources. The fanbased modding in their spare time is taking so many years, by the time full transfer to Renewed is complete, the generation that started playing this will have grown out of playing. Anyone not playing on a server basically has an empty world: without structures it is not even Middle Earth. My respects to Mevans for his stamina to still contribute after so many years. I would long have given up.

Go to the hangar there is also a smithing there your safe from mist .

What's up with LotR Minecraft Mod? Why don't the Website announce that the Renewed Edition, and probably this whole Mod is DEAD? what happened? did Mevans get blood cloths or something? He announced there would be weekly or bi-weekly updates, but nothing happened since over a whole Year.

Mevans probably got demoralized. He has to translate the entire mod to 1.17 which is basically rewriting the entire mod. Mind you, the mod is still unfinished, so even if he retranslates the whole thing, he still has to FINISH the damned thing.

What version is this? when I download and play the 1.16.5, 5.5 version, there was no NPC quest, Gandalf, the Red book didn't even work and no infrastructures to be found, no hobbit house, no tables, to dungeon, no abandoned tower, nothing, just hobbit walking around and Orcs also doing the same.

This is Renewed, Version 5.5. There hasn't been an update on this version in over a year...I'm not sure when work will resume.

Mevans DID apparently give us some new information about a possible update in the near future (ie the next 5 years instead of 10) so maybe the new renewed snapshot will come soon

The gold ring is already in the mod as the portal to middle earth but if you are asking about the One Ring I think that is planned to come out later along with the rest of the story NPC's and locations

It's up to you. You need to play 1.16 if you want to play multiplayer, though, as 1.7.10 is too vulnerable.

You can turn it off in the config. The directory is here (for Windows): C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\LOTR-Renewed\config\lotr-client.toml Scroll through that file with Notepad and you'll come to something like this: fogOfWar = true Set that to false and the fog of war will be gone.

As you may have realised this video is recorded in 720p. This is because my monitor's native resolution is 1440x900p (16:10). Now, I have a question for you. Would you.... a) be OK with me recording in 720p, and having the game look normal on my end, or b) prefer me recording in 1080p, but have the game look severely distorted for me? Please let me know your preferences. I hope to get a 1920x1080p monitor sometime in the not too distant future.

I'm really not 100% sure, we're currently on update 4.7, but I've been rather busy and haven't had tons of time to make videos as of late.

Looks awesome, I really like those little landscape views. ^^ Anyways I have an idea: Idk know how you are recording, but your could try to experiment with fibers or so (wind-protection) for your camera, like television news people do. Maybe it helps to improve audio a bit.

How is your framerate so low? I play on my 2011 laptop and i get more frames. Maybe you can try changing to a less demanding recording software, that could help.

I wonder how the Rangers, and ranged weapons will be implemented because I find it hard balancing bows and arrows with swords and shields

Yeah if you make two units with shields fight they will just hold up their shield and not attack and just stand there I hope they fix it
