That is a very complex arrangement. I do not play a chromatic and can only appreciate that you do, and set yourself quite a challenge with this piece. 🎶 I still have your version of “Mary, did you know” saved and have enjoyed it repeatedly! There is something about the sound quality, the key, and the particular dulcimer that is gorgeous to my ears. 💜

NGL, I kind of outgrew my “Metal uber alles” phase in my very early twenties, and I’m 61 now, but I still love an eclectic approach to music and a genre bending fusion approach to orchestration, rhythm, and themes. Bravo!

I play this song on the Irish whistle (tinwhistle, pennywhistle, feadog, flageolet, whatever). Your rendition is really nice. I love that dulcimer! Have you ever played a phin? That's a Thai instrument that is basically a sort of dulcimer that you play upright like a guitar. They generally have a big dragon or bird for a headstock. They aren't dreadfully expensive and they're lotsa fun - try one!🎶

Sounds great. I just got one with the same woods one he made back in 1998. He had it on his table at Dulcimer U this year. Has an old man’s face carved into the head. The first time I strummed it I knew I had to have it.
