Arbroath is a wonderful place.

First time I tried an Arbroath smokie I was 8. Got it from that exact shop as well! I was a fussy eater, ans I wouldn't even eat normal fish and chips, but the Arbroath smokies were so good! I was lucky enough to live there for years and went to the beach most days after school and got a smokie and watched massive Angus seagulls devour chips thrown by other children. Unfortunately these times have been tainted by the fact that the same year I tried a smokie, the head and hands of a poor Lithuanian woman washed up on the beach and were discovered by 2 young girls... I remember my mums best friend lived in the same flats as the woman and her murderers, and me and my little sister saw all the men come in white suits to raid her bins and search for evidence. We had no idea what was going on but the silence of our mum and her friend was concerning so we never spoke about it.
