How is it that so many trees look as though they didn't burn? Trees right by a house or structure that's burned down to the foundation. Seriously, is that normal? Or maybe we just can't see from the height that drone is flying -- maybe most are burned but still standing.

could have been burnt down just like in the movie escape from L.A.

I have seen the strangest video from the Palisades fire. A house was engulfed in flames and the fires pulsating in a way i have never seen before. The fires went from low to such a high intensity it was absolutely unbelievable! The color of the flames changed from a deep reddish or orange to the brightest white color when it was pulsating. It went from low to high intensity and it was so bright that you could not see the house anymore. When the intensity changed from low to high you literally could hear the fire making a hissing sound. It was so intense that actually the ground started shaking. As if the house was sitting in a furnace. Really really bizarre.

Shocking how far most of those homes were from the foothills. I never imagined this could happen to such an extreme degree.

The houses nestling in the hills are expensive and beautiful but I'm also a fan of rolling hills without houses. The Hollywood sign was cleverly done and truly iconic in its day. Unfortunately, Hollywood has become associated with the very depths of depravity. Also, the wood of the holly tree (holly wood) was used for making witches wands. The area has links with witchcraft and evil practices.

If I were flying the drone, I would be so tempted to fly through the letters. Have you ever done that?

The land continues to become increasingly arid. The Santa Ana winds blow every year. Stupidity ( behavior that shows a lack of good sense or judgment) is to continue the same things/policies over and over to perpetuate the same negative results!

My family, the Scotts, settled in Altadena in the 1950s. My first family home was near Lincoln and Altadena Dr. I left Pasadena in 1996. I have lived in New York for the past decade. Thank you for sharing this excellent footage.

I have two friends who lost homes in Altadena. I am heartbroken for them, and all who were impacted by the fires. I can't imagine...

why are all the trees standing and keeping their green leaves??? while all the houses are burned to the ground, it doesn't make sense

The last part of the video-atop Runyon Canyon where many people hike to is where the Sunset Fire was-a good distance from the Hollywood sign to it's left (looking at sign-about a half mile away)-you can see that the fire was close to making it down the hill which all those homes would have been torched. Looking out from the Hollywood sign in the distance to the right was the location of the Pacific Palisades fire where the smoke was prevalent.

They are all built so close to each other , are there no fire regulations about this.

I find it easy to pick out the properties that will by burning and rebuilding increase the amount of tax that can be stolen from its tenant. It is easy to see which properties were assessed @ a higher rate and were never late or termite owned.

This Great LA Fires of 2025 is a man-made, not natural, disaster. The authorities issued evacuation order without a plan to protect those homes/buildings. There are countless stories on KZbin from which the homeowners defied the evac order, stayed and protected their and others' houses successfully.
