The 2-3-2 configuration is true for the 777 but it's not the whole truth. The 777-200 come with a 2-2-2 configuration and of the 777-300 there's 3 gen of the business class,most of them offer a flat bed seat already

It doesn’t work on all the planes. Airbus seems to have this feature more, Boeing not so much. AB320 series tend to have these, and older 737 armrests are locked.

The aisle ones don't move unless you got a button / trigger. Lots of people don't know that the button/trigger exist and cause they're hidden so everyone assumes you just can't move it.

😂 Had someone do this and my husband and I had to book 2 middle seats like this because there was nothing left for us to sit together. The parents were like shocked when we showed up. They decided to squeeze together and we were finally able to sit together. But it was only because they did not want to separate.
