I have had mine a while and now want to start using the bag. Thanks for great review. It was nice you know exactly how it goes without fumbling around. I have your pallet and now got much smaller one and that will be nice too

Hello, thanks for sharing this interesting video, but why are all of the stamps so huge, can't there be smaller ones?
@BalzerDesigns
@BalzerDesigns 3 күн бұрын
There are smaller ones. In my videos and in my art I use the stamps I like, which are the big ones. You should always use the art supplies that you like and not be swayed by others preferences. That's why stamps and other tools come in such a wide range of colors, sizes, styles, etc.

I had just switched from acrylic painting to watercolour in 2012 when I discovered Angela Fehr on KZbin. Ever since, I have followed her and taken some of her amazing courses and also a wonderful workshop I organized in Montreal on 2019.

I understand completely. I joined an urban sketching group because I enjoy doing that. But the group scatters all over the place and then comes back together at the end to show and tell. I thought it would be more social and we would be working closer together. I don't know how we will get to know one another if this is the way this group plans to work. I can go urban sketching on my own and post the results online, as I've been doing.

That has been my experience at Urban Sketching meetups too. I like to be social and chat while I work, but I guess not everyone is like that.

I have been saving some deli paper that comes under a bake it yourself pizza (so no grease) from an actual deli. It's got 1/2" black and white checks on it. Haven't tried to use it yet but i thought that would be a fun pattern.

This was interesting, Julie. I like that you put the paper through the ringer, trying all the paints, so we all know! I wonder if the black is specially made for art, since it doesn't react or stand up like regular white does? Good video!

I used your link and went to Amazon, it says the material it’s made of is nylon. Maybe that’s why paint isn’t sticking to it? Robyn McClendon uses black steak paper (Amazon) on the gel plate and it is thin and works great. I haven’t tried it because of price

Thanks Julie! I enjoyed your experimentation with the black deli paper. I had seen in on amazon but decided not to try it. I was afraid the paper would bleed. For a minute I thought maybe one side of the paper would secure the acrylic better and that was the issue but perhaps not. I do prefer using the thin papers like deli paper for collage. I even have a roll of medical paper (what they put on the exam table) I use sometimes. It’s not as transparent as deli paper but fun too. Experimenting is so much fun! Love it❣️

since the black deli paper isn't translucent, and why would it be, whats the point of using it even if the paint didn't run? Just use black paper.
@BalzerDesigns
@BalzerDesigns 23 күн бұрын
Wow. I don't use deli paper because it's transparent. I use it because it's thin and strong. Perhaps we have different reasons for using deli paper?

I sincerely appreciate value instructors, whether online, in a recorded or live workshop or an in person class when the instructor actually has a struggle or makes a mistake and actually works it through with you. Because people online show edited videos and they finished and product that’s perfect. And a lot of people see that and feel like they can’t do it where they never got to appreciate or understand that the instructor had struggles along the way made a mistake had to fix it, and I think those times are the most valuable things that beginners can learn.

Another home run ladies!!! The wisdom of the quote about not living your life looking back over your shoulder was 🤯. I like the energy each of you bring to the podcast. I used to listen to paperclipping too. I didn't discover Julie until I took an online art class and another artist introduced me to her blog. Julie you do have charisma

Yesssss! Studio notebooks! Buying a cheap sketchbook has been one of the most freeing things I have ever done for myself artistically! ANY thought, sketch, scribble can go in it because I paid so little for it. I don’t have to worry about “worthiness” or “pretty!” It has truly changed me. 🎨🩷🎨🩷

I, too, love notebooks/studio books/whatever you want to call them. I have a whole shelf with all of my different ones. Some have sketches; some for working out ideas, some for notes, some have paintings; one is just for swatching; most have a mish mash of some or all.
