Absolutely. Especially when you consider the fact that each individual instrument in that orchestra has its own microphone. Every violin, every flute, every bassoon, etc. has its own mic, so just perfecting the balance and blend of the orchestra alone is a Herculean task. Night of the Proms generally has really good sound mixing for such a large ensemble.

interesting for me as a german speaker i was somehwat surprised when i saw how the video ended took place in a german "game-show" from the 80s . believe me, most those people in the audience did probably never heards of Sade before. and im not surprised the audience gave a not a screaming response for different reasons... and i think this is playback? lol?
